HDMI cable checker.
This is a handy tool for checking HDMI cables. Some cables come with less than the full complement of connections that work with some devices, but all the cables I've found like this don't work with my projector. So this has been very useful to me in selecting the right cables to do the job.

A great help
It's nice to be able to quickly assess the quality of cords and connectors -- and throw out the faulty ones.

Good little testing thingy
It works, what more do you want? Used this to cull my cable pile a bit. Good for figuring out which actually have all the pins they're supposed to have. The polycarbonate shield and screws are sort of cheap, FYI.

Works well for continuity testing
Works well for me. In my experience, 90% of HDMI cable problems I've encountered are due to broken wires in the cable, with breaks typically being at or around one of the connectors or just past the strain relief where there may be a sharp bend or kink in the cable. This is a quick and cheap way to check for breaks in the cable, and because it runs a continuous continuity check, you can "wiggle" the cable to see if one or more connections open up when twisted. I like it better than an older HDMI cable tester I have, because it shows all the connections at once, rather than cycling through them one-by-one like the old tester. It offers mini and micro HDMI ports, so you can test those weird cables you get with some cameras and video devices. And, it has a lithium coin battery so it is portable, although it does have a USB power input as well (just remember to keep the power switch turned off when not in use). The only negative is that it is an open frame circuit board with a transparent shield over it, not a closed box, so you have to be careful and gentle in handling it. But given the cost, that is something I can live with. This is not something you use to test an HDMI cable to see if meets specific HDMI version transmission standards; it is simple "light box" to check for broken wires. It is very similar to the old RS-232 "breakout boxes" we used back in the day, without the wire jumpers.

Works for me!
Needed a HDMI tester after wiring up the HDMI cable to my son's room only to find it didn't work.... I have multiple electronic testing devices but not ONE to test HDMI cables. Received well packaged and I tested its operation on 30, 50 and 100ft HDMI cables without fail. Works for me! Love the ability to see where the connection fail has occurred in the cable. I have two different testers now and they both work well!

Very useful tool!
Great for troubleshooting when a HDMI cable is to blame for not receiving ATMOS audio.

A Quality Time Saver
We needed a small, reliable tester for HDMI cables at a reasonable price. This wasn't for a business, just occasional household use. The basic, no frills, little tester has been accurate in our small sample. It quickly identified both good and bad cables which saved time in troubleshooting faulty devices. We actually like the look of the exposed circuit board and simple design.
