RIDGID 57018 Model C15/22 mm C-Style Close Quarters Copper Tubing Cutter Capacity, 15-22mm

I have had mine 18 months now and it’s still working well. I’ve had to change the blade and also take it apart to free up the rollers once or twice but it’s not difficult and I’ve had too do that to other slices anyway. If you do take it apart there are two tiny bits of metal in the spring to watch out for, I’ve lost one but it still seems to work! It cuts very well for me. It’s bigger than a 15mm slice so some times won’t get into a space that a normal one would. The blade is expensive- nearly half the cost of the thing new, that said it did last a good while! It’s probably a bit heavy than most as well. The drop down roller will get gummed up in old paint from pipes 🤣 that all said It’s good to grip and cuts well. Pretty easy to maintain if needed. Saves weight and space in my bag. And gets used most days.It could be improved as others have said and maybe it will be, but it’s a good effort.

After many months of use; This is a very good cutter, still cuts quickly, nothing snapped or broken or fallen apart. However... I have had a fairly serious issue which many other people would not have been able or bothered to fix. After prolonged use the cutters will eventually get wet. If it gets wet inside the guide wheels, they will completely seize up from rust and there is no way - at least intentionally - of being able to un seize these wheels. When the wheels are seized you can still use the cutters, but they will drag, making them hard to turn which causes them to start trmlining/spiralling and leaving marks on the pipe. With a lot of work, bending of parts and hammering, I was able to remove the pins for the guide wheels (difficult to remove as put in with star shaped end - not meant to be removed) and have now greased them thoroughly - why they dont come pre-greased is beyond me!! - and they have been working like a dream ever since (3+ months)

The product is good but fragile , I dropped mine on the ground and the piece that holds the wheels dident work anymore. Had to take everything apart and bend the piece as it was with a slight bend to it.

the ease of use with a quality cut - made my task really simple - This is one very good idea - I've only used it on 15mm

Bought this cutter 2 weeks ago. I love but dropped it. Now it’s not as smooth as it was. All cutters give up after a while but this didn’t take much to brake. I took it apart and put it back together. But I can’t get it to be as smooth.

Not sure if it works out cheaper buying 1 of these rather than buying two cheaper cutters. But if you're buying some of the premium cutters it probably does. But for me the main advantage was space saver in tool bag and convienance of having to only reach for one cutter and not two. It can be a bit fiddly to switch settings though especially if you don't lubricate it after use or if you're wearing heavy duty gloves. but brilliant for my breakdown bag where I only want to carry the bear minimum.

This is a bit of a tricky review really because I've given it three stars, which is slap bang in the middle. As a product, I'd probably give it 5 stars. Used it quite a lot, and I'm more than happy with it. I use it most days in my job. It feels quality in the hand. Two things that make it stand out are obviously the fact that it works with 15mm and 22mm pipes. Also the quick, easy, fast change blade. Which brings me on to why I only gave it three stars. It's the replacement blade. This requires a specific blade. Stroke cutter, stroke wheel. Here in the UK, I found they're quite difficult to get hold of, very difficult to get hold of actually. And the ones that you do find are very expensive. In fact, they're stupidly disproportionately expensive. In most cases, they are at least nearly half the cost of a brand new cutter. So until that situation changes here in the UK, I can't possibly give it any more than three. In fact, I was being generous with three. I know that might seem a bit unfair on the actual product and it's not necessarily a genuine review of the product itself. But I personally feel that those two issues, the product and the purchase of additional blades, are linked as part of the review. If that situation does change and blades become: 1. More available 2. Certainly a lot cheaper I can't change my opinion. But if that does change, I'll more than happily amend this review and review the stars on it as well.

Kupferrohr, wandnah, in einer sehr unzugänglicher Lage. Aber es musste raus, weil es leider an einer Stelle undicht war... Dieser kleine Helfer hat das scheinbar riesengroße Problem gelöst und somit viele Stemmarbeiten und Löcher in der Wand erspart. Funktioniert gut, schneidet effizient und schnell.
