Great gate, well made, easier to install if you go into wood versus wallboard.
I got this gate for the last of the doorways so that all the area's in my house can be locked off from my very active toddler. He hasn't figured out the twist lift to unlock feature yet, and since the gate is fabric he can't climb it like a metal gate. This comes with two types of bracket mounts, one side has stick tabs to help you place where the brackets holes go. For this side, you put the stick tab brackets on the gate, peel the backing off the stick tabs, align and stick them to the wall, then pull the gate back off the brackets to expose where the screws will need to go. If you are drilling into wood, I just leave these stick tab brackets on and then drill the screws in without really predrilling any holes. If it's wallboard, you will need to place the gate/tabs on the wall and remove the gate, then mark where the holes will go and carefully peel the tabs back off the wall so you can drill holes big enough for the wall anchors, next add the wall anchors, then put the tabs back in place, screw them on and add the gate. These tabs are sticky, and peeling them off risks paint/drywall removal with the tab. After that side is on, the next part is marking where the two hook brackets go and screwing them in, or setting wall anchors then screwing the hook brackets on. Highly recommend finding a way to install this into wood framing, it's more of a pain to install the gate into just the wall with no wooden stud or framing. This gate is nice and long at 255 inches, and even though I am not using this one across a large entryway now, I have plans to switch this one and another gate I own (they use the same connector brackets) to put this one up at the large gap between rooms of the house. The other gate barely closes across that space now, and this one would fit perfectly. I just didn't think about it's extra length while putting it up, and I don't feel like retaking the picture after I move it. My only complaint is that because it's so long, you have to be careful winding it back up, especially when pulled all the way out. Sometimes it wants to start to bunch up at the top or bottom as you wind it in, and to fix this you'd have to pull the gate out and try again with perfect realignment top and bottom, as well as right to left. 5 stars over all, solid gate, rods help with the stability (especially when it's stretched all the way out), would get this again if I had anymore door/entryways to block.

Easy install; UPDATE: doesnโt last
This was surprisingly easy to install. The bottom mount can move up and down to accommodate baseboards, which was so nice. And then the wall mounts are sticky so you donโt have to measure where to put the holes. The clips for the other side were easy too and there are holes so you can mount them different ways depending on if itโs perpendicular to a wall or parallel to the wall across an opening. Itโs pretty easy to lock/unlock for adults, but I think would be kinda tricky for kids. I love how tall it is! And I love how compact it is when itโs rolled up, almost completely out of the way. Overall: so far, so good. UPDATE: The quality of this doesnโt last. We use it every day, many, many times a day. Sometimes we fully open/close and sometimes we just open enough to walk through then close again. The fabric started to fold weird along the top edge, even though we hold onto the end and slowly walk it in every time. And now it doesnโt line up quite right so itโs harder to open. It works great to be out of the way when not in use and does keep areas separate, but it just doesnโt really last long. Weโre looking at other options now.

Great long gate option!
I was looking for something ready long to go across our back garage door to prevent my old dogs from going out the screen door. This gate was plenty long and super easy to pull open and roll back open. It has reinforcement in frequent intervals along the whole length of the gate. While it wouldn't stop a determined dog, it keeps the mesh from sagging and stands up to some pressure. It also comes with a kit to add bottom grommets to attach floor anchors which would be a huge help in keeping the bottom secure. We did not install those as we didn't have the need given our situation but it is a nice touch! The gate itself is very easy to unhook from the wall anchors if you needed to get the whole thing out of the way, but the roll itself is very minimal and tucks against the wall nicely.

Nice and tall
This review is for the following item: Reinforced Bottom 42" Extra Tall X 100" Extra Wide Retractable Baby Gate Extra Tall Retractable Dog Gate Outdoor Retractable Gate for Dog No Sagging Mesh Baby Gate Retractable Extra Tall Pet Gate This is such a nice baby gate, but works great as a pet gate too. When it is not open, having it out of sight is such a nice concept. Other baby gates you have to remove them if you don't want them blocking your doorway and then the problem of storing them. This is not my first retractable gate, but it is definitely my favorite. The reinforced strips that go from top to bottom keep my one sneaky cat from scooting underneath. With this gate, it retracts. Nothing bulky about it. When I don't need the gate blocking off the living room, I can just retract it and it rolls up. There is nothing on the floor that I have to worry about tripping over. There is no gate to have to store someplace when it is not in use. It's all rolled up and out of the way, ready for use when it's needed again. My husband said installation is pretty straight forward and isn't difficult. I am happy with this gate. It sure is nicer having a retractable gate rather than the bulky metal bar gates. I do recommend this gate for anyone who has a large opening and needs a nice gate to keep pets and little ones from areas they don't belong.

Probably not entirely suitable for rambunctious toddlers & small children or...
...large or aggressive / poorly trained dogs. And definitely not for containing cats (a determined cat can easily jump a 42" tall gate). This gate is better suited for use with smaller, docile & better trained dogs, babies, toddlers & small children who are either not yet great at walking or of a calmer disposition. Also this gate is made plenty wide for universal design standards / being wheelchair friendly. Hallways & doorways under modern universal design principles are a minimum of 3 feet or 36" wide & the widest opening this accommodates is a very generous 100" (a bit over 8 feet) wide. But still measure where the gate should go before you purchase it. These gates look like chic black plastic mesh roller window blinds but are installed sideways / horizontally (not vertically). You will need tools to install them (you will be making holes in a wall or framing to mount the gates so if you are a renter, check with your landlord & lease agreement before installing). The installation & use instructions are easy to read & follow but the most important thing is to remember to lock the gates when using them or they will bow & bulge & might not be as secure at keeping toddlers kids & dogs where you want them or retract when vigorously pressed up against. I think I prefer gates that are sturdier in construction to these but these have a very nice appearance & are better built than many competitor's retractable baby / pet gates. I especially like that they are taller to contain older young children & some medium sized dogs, they are reinforced with bars along the mesh to strengthen them, but they still have a few drawbacks & limitations in their use. I didn't install or test this gate outside even though the manufacturer says it can be installed outside. 4 out of 5 stars.

Works great!
This was actually very easy to install, and the instructions where surprisingly detailed and thorough. The backs of the mounting pieces had sticky backs so you could place them were needed and it would stick enough to the wall for you to then screw into place. It did take two of us to install, as we need one person to hold the gate open in place and one to place the hooks at the right spot in order to make sure everything lines up correctly! I love the bars that run along from top to bottom to help keep it straight and prevent the dogs from going under it!
