great knives!
Complete novice here. My 16 yr/o son has been begging for a set of throwing knives / spikes to learn a new skill. He has no aspirations to become a Ninja assassin or anything silly like that. We just live in South Louisiana where hunting, fishing and archery are all casual pastimes. Throwing metal blades at a wooden target didn’t seem out of the realm of what constitutes normal everyday outdoor fun, and I thought this would be something fun to do together. I picked this set up along with a stack of 2X6s at Home Depot. We built a 4'X4' heavy standing target and got to work. While I have zero basis for comparison against other styles or types of throwing knives, I do own quite a few survival and hunting knives along with dozens of various pocket knives. In other words, I know blades well enough to speak somewhat intelligently, but know very little about how this may translate into the skillset of throwing knives. What I liked:1) The weight and sharpness. These are heavy knives, roughly 3/16" thick. We threw them together for roughly 30 minutes yesterday into our new 4'X4' target made of 2X6s, and rarely did we hit with the tip and not stick. Learning to land tip down is a skill we both have a great deal of work before we master, but knowing a correctly thrown blade will not bounce out is comforting. I would imagine throwing these knives into the vertical grain of a stump ring would make for a softer and more ideal target, but these hefty knives did just fine against the horizontal grain of the pine. Will hang some stump rings from our boards when I can get my hands on some.2) The hardness and corrosion resistance. While the product description does not list the actual type of stainless steel, I would guess something at or below the level of 440C or 8Cr13Mov. For the price, it has to be some variant of a budget stainless, thus needing the corrosion resistant Teflon-like coating. High end stainless that wouldn't need a coating would make these blades preventatively expensive, and who would want to throw something like that anyway? Having said all that, I was very impressed with the steel's hardness, impact resistance and edge retention. As beginners, our knives bounced all over the place as we began to learn the best distances to throw from and how to flip with a consistent amount of spin. After 30 minutes of very hard use and blades bouncing all over the place, there was no loss in sharpness or coating. The knives just looked a little dirtier than they were when we started, and we put them through quite a bit of abuse.3) The rubber handles. Good grip. But I’m thinking this is something we appreciate as beginners, but may become a hinderance as our skills improve. What I’m not sure about:1) The weight. As with the rubber handles, I’m thinking this may be something we both appreciate now, but also a attribute that may limits our progression. Weight has its place, but there is something to be said for high speed / low drag. Blade impact power is nothing more than velocity X mass. If you can up velocity, you can lower mass but still have the same result. As we to learn how to throw correctly with more power, I can see how a lighter blade may become more desirable. Only time will tell, so take this point as just my personal intuition.2) The shape of the blade makes throwing from the blade end almost impossible. It’s a fat, tapered spearpoint. You are forced to throw these bales from the handle which limits the distance increments that you can throw from (I think).3) The fabric sheath. Its somewhat cheaply made but does give you nice rollable storage for your blades from day one. For the price, I am not disappointed. I’m a big fan of leather though and can see having a custom sheath made in our future. I would not want to have paid for one now as I’m not certain that this will be the style of knives we stick with. Again, time will tell. For now, I am very pleased.

Very cool!
I've got one of these throwing stars, but never used it. I always wanted to try throwing knives. When they arrived, even hubby was commenting on how good they look. They're very sturdy, I love the design and it's full tang so it shouldn't break or damage easily. The red sleeves work well and are easily visible. I started throwing them at a hay bale with a target on it, had a few go inside a bit deep because I didn't hit the target so it was hard to get them out. Now I have no idea how to really learn knife throwing well but from trying these out I think they throw well and handle really good. They don't slip out of my hands and are very sharp. Definitely not easy to hit a small target with, and (something I didn't think about) to hit with the blade.... as otherwise the knife just bounces off the target. I definitely need a lot of practice now, can't wait to use these knives more!

EXCELLENT bang for the buck!!!👍
I don't really know anything about throwing knives, but the opportunity arose to get these, and I've always been interested, so I jumped at it. I must say... I'm blown away by how nice these knives are, and how many come in the set. Being a novice, I'm not really qualified to speak about the quality or design other than to say that they exceeded my expectations in every way, and look great! 👍

Nice recreational starter set for someone looking to get into knife throwing and having fun.
I'm a total novice when it comes to throwing knives, but I have a few other sets that I play around with. This set is different from my others as it has the rubber type grips on them--all my others are just straight metal. I like the grips, they feel good and give a bit of traction, which is nice once my hands get all sweaty. I've done some research online, trying to learn more about how to throw them and also just about throwing knives in general, and seeing what is available out there, it seems that this is a 'starter' set for a beginner who is just starting to learn, or a set for someone just looking to have fun with. It isn't a 'military grade' or tactical type set, those cost a lot more--for example, I saw one single knife that was $90.This set comes with a sheath that is decent, but the 'belt' is very basic. You will notice though how heavy the whole set is right out of the box, heavier than any of my other knives. I think it's a good set for me to play around with, and practice throwing from the handle instead of the sharp end. In fact, I think my other throwing 'knives' were actually sold as throwing 'spikes'...Those kinds are easier to hold from the sharp end because they aren't sharpened all the way down the sides.Anyway, for the current $40 price for 6 knives I'd say this is a pretty good deal, and a fun way to start getting the feel for throwing knives, particularly throwing from the handle and not the tips.

Perfect for Camping
I recently picked up this 6-pack of 10-inch full-tang throwing knives with rubber handles, and they’ve been a blast to use. The weight and balance are spot on, making them easy to throw with accuracy, even if you’re just starting out. The rubber handles add a nice, comfortable grip, which really helps with control and reduces hand fatigue during longer sessions. The full-tang design gives these knives a sturdy, durable feel, so they can handle repeated throws without any worry of breaking or bending. They stick well into targets, and the rubber handles also absorb some of the shock on impact. Overall, this set is perfect for anyone looking to practice their throwing skills or just have some fun with a reliable set of knives!

Awesome
These things are fun. I made a place to throw them in my back yard, they seem to be balanced very well. They are surprisingly heavier duty than I expected. Overall, am planning to play more with the NedFoss brand and start checking out the variety of axes that they have.
