One can set the zero for weighing in plates or bowls.Modern cooking recipes are shifting from cups/spoons to grams/lbs - this solves problem.Fruit and vegetables get delivered at home and need to verified. Overall worth the price.Any good kitchen needs a good accurate weighing machine.This is one.I add below after 2 months of use--------------------------------------------------I have improved rating from 4 to 5. I have faced no problem with the product.It is no doubt it is not a professional product for use in small kitchen measurement - vegetables, pulses, atta, etc. But I am unhappy with the some reviews people have added. I don't think one should expect the product to perform more than it is expected to. Or look for freebies by defaming a product.I also dislike Professional Reviewers. Amazon should restrict reviews from Top 50 reviewers. In general I urge readers to ignore reviews of top 50 reviewers as a general rule, and judge expected performance of product on basis of both good and bad reviews of products.

The Product is light and easy to use , i have used it on an average once a month over the past 1.5 years, primarily for baking needs. However , it has now stopped working properly. The top disc has come loose and now the figures shown are not consistent. There appears to be a loose contact now , and the device is now unusable. I would say that i have been extremely careful with it , no rough handling or dropping etc.I would have expected this device to last a bit more than this , the quality does not make it worth the purchase. 3 stars for the level it has served my needs.

Initially i have taken weigh and it showed me the weight, although I did not focus on accuracy. Later when I was really to keen to take the weight of some of the items of my grocery and I found it does not give accurate number. With the same item, it will show different weights which is bizaare to me. I won't recommend as it's a waste of money .

I received this electronic kitchen weighing scale within one day of ordering. I ordered at 3pm and Amazon was quick enough to deliver it by 6pm the next day. Paid INR 354/- (20/- shipping incl) against MRP of INR 499/-Coming to the product, the machine is almost weightless by itself. Nothing compared to what I had thought. I wish I could weigh it too and write it's exact weight here :-P it's lighter than most smart phones!It is a small, non-tedious, most compact, simple machine with easy mechanics. It comes with 3 buttons - On/Off, Mode and Tare.- Runs on two pencil cells (like TV remote batteries) which are included in the package- Automatic turn off like a calculator- Mode button to switch between measuring units (grams or ounces)- Tare button to reset the scale to zero. Once you press this button, the machine will go to zero. This way you can ignore the weight of the container and directly note the weight of the contents.The machine measures in nearest rounded-off ten thousandths place in grams (maximum load capacity of 10,000g or 10Kg or 353oz) OR measures in ounces upto one decimal place. Hence, based on your comfort level, you can switch between grams or ounces.The packaging was excellent with bubble wrap. Extremely light product - lightest gadget in your kitchen. Practically weightless! Occupies negligible space and can be easily moved around when not in use. Same look and feel as the picture here. Must buy for people who are into baking, cooking which needs exact measurements. Worth the money. Surprisingly accurate across the weighing range and very lightweight and handy. Only negative is that the weight display stays on for less than 20 seconds on a static load and then shuts off. This is quite inconvenient if adding different ingredients to weigh and then removing for mixing etc. You will lose the previous weight, especially if you have zeroed, (tare weighted) the scale to account for the weight of the container you are putting the ingredients in. This requires then, first weighing the container and noting its weight, then pressing the tare (zero reading) key, and noting down all readings manually, noted if using more than one or two ingredients. However, if multi-ingredient weighing in the way described is not an issue this is a good scale to use.

I needed a handy weighing scale for everyday use and it does what it says, comes with batteries. Use the tare button to zero in the weights before you take measurements and has proper accurate measurement of weight and a bright led. you can take weights in ounce as well as gram, although I only use gram. There arent any moving parts so just press the tare button whenever you need to reset the weight. Comes with two pencil cells in the box.
