Action Grade Book

This is a nicely laid out, easy to use grade book. I like how the columns have rows for headings (assignment names and dates). The rows are perfectly sized and alternate between gray and white to help keep your eyes from accidentally skipping rows. No bells and whistles here but this is everything a teacher needs for a grade book. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is because I wish there were more actual grade book pages instead of all the note pages, seating chart pages, etc. These are all things that I don't use in a grade book.

As a thirty year veteran mathematics teacher, I have used a lot of grade books. This one is the ULTIMATE in organization! I would assume that only true veteran teachers create this design because it is obvious that someone who has been in the classroom for a long time laid it out. Alternating weekly shading provides for quick and easy scanning of grade. Ten weeks of blocks labeled M-F in alternating shades help with quick view analyzing. Above each day of the week is a block for dates and a vertical area for listing the assignment. The numerical column is differentiated so that location of students is easier. Hour, Teacher, Time and Course can be labeled on each page. AND a total of 32 students can be listed for each page. The block size is 1/4 inch square offering a perfect space for the grade. It also offers two additional rows of blocks below each day of the week so that absentees can be marked or tardy's, daily totals, or cumulative totals; the choice is the teachers. I love it and for my particular teaching rigor and curriculum, this is perfect!

This is undoubtedly the best grade book ever! I have used other brands for over 20 years, and I am sold on this one now. The spiral bound helps the pages turn with ease...never getting caught on the binding. The grid is easy to fill in...plenty of room. The alternate white/grey-shaded lines also add to the ease of using this product.
