Alice In Chains - Man In A Box

This DVD is amazing!!! Having discovered the band around 2001, I was a late comer of the original band sadly! I had just brought their 1990-1996 albums when I heard the tragic news Layne had passed away! So I thought 'well, that's it then!' then of course we had the 2006 apperances that brought us fans a little hope then a new album arrives which is of course, amazing! But what I thought this 'recarnation' needed was a live album or better yet, a live DVD and this here doesn't disappoint!!!The band sound out of this world! I've seen the band a few times now and almost 99% of the time, a cd or DVD won't even come close to capturing that experience but this rare gem does just that!The effects on Jerry and Williams microphones really make it 'Alice in Chains!' The first note of 'Rain when I die' still gives me chills!I've found recently that when I see a band or watch a live DVD, somethings always off ie- the guitars to quite -the bass isn't coming through ECT but this is all perfect!Theres about 10/12 tracks on here, my favourite being Nutshell which Jerry dedicates to Layne, then a special finishing when Mike.M of Pearl Jam comes out for Rooster!I think a lot of bands couldn't pull off returning with a new singer but AIC made the absolute right choice with William! The melodies he and Jerry do are as haunting as if Layne were up there doing it!An AMAZING DVD that I can honestly say, is the best live DVD I've EVERR come across!!If you haven't caught the band live yet, then watch this, it'll totally make up for it =]

I had the chance to see them playing live a couple of days before Bilbao date, in their Barcelona gig, a regular venue, and it was an absolutely great, longer (they played more songs and get about two hours) and more intense show.Anyway you won't feel dissapointed with this DVD, because it's been a long time waiting to see these guys again. Maybe it's recorded in a TV format and so you miss some communication between the band and the audience, because there are some gaps or cuts, but to tell you the truth, all the songs in the DVD were the songs that they really played. It was a short show (one hour) because they were in BBK Festival with many different bands and supporting Pearl Jam, that's why Mike McCready appears in the last and dramatic song played, Rooster.People enjoy specially the old songs but the new ones they played are very acute as well, and the quality of sound is good. Finally the weakest point could be the quality of the image, but I forgive almost everything that comes from these guys...If you are a fan, don't you hesitate, buy it and if you aren't...what are you doing here reading this?Cheers from Spain.

The live dvd of a band ever. Just a big fan of Alice in Chains plus amazing early deliverly also the best quality before and after a dvd if you love the band. Please own this because it is worth the money!
