Looks good, was a great price. Only complaint is that it indents fairly easily. I ate a lunch from a glass container with feet and the feet on the side where I rested my hand while eating left indentations in the mat! The small, circular indentations are still there several weeks later.

Brown is medium-brown. My photo shows true color, with the medium-brown pad against a dark-brown wooden desktop, and a silver-gray cable stretched across both. Desk hinge is black, and this photo was taken with natural light on a cloudy day. The plastic surface is textured to resemble real leather to the eye and to the hand. Since it's plastic, the feel isn't exactly that of leather, but it's pleasant enough.Description says 2mm thick; I haven't measured but I'm sure it's no thicker than that.The cork layer underneath is paper-thin. You don't need cork for shock-absorption or anything like that, because the plastic surface is soft enough on its own; the cork may help it avoid slipping on the surface below. (Mine doesn't slip.) The work surface is soft enough that to write on it I may want to use an additional backer, like a clipboard or piece of heavy paper. As a mousepad surface, it's perfectly fine, and thinner than most mousepads.The pad doesn't lay completely flat immediately. I only just received this, so let's give it time. I attempted to get the outer edges to lay down with a warm hairdryer, but that didn't do much; I didn't let it linger as to not cause damage. The curling it does do is with a very slight hump just before the outer edge. This is far preferable to the edge "curling up", and if it never does lie completely flat, that won't be the end of the world. It will still be serviceable. If it never does lay flat, though, I may remove a star later.My main purpose for this pad is as a surface for handwriting. I'll need to experiment with this, as I don't want stylus pressure or bleeding ink to damage it. Better to damage this than to damage the furniture it's sitting on, though; and I have a sense this will protect the underlying surface well.

This desk pad does the job and really helps elevate my desk, which would feel a little boring without it. It fits perfectly in with my aesthetic! One tip - I would make sure to clean up any spills right away. It doesn't seem too forgiving with stains.

This mat is beautiful! I've only just received it and set it up, so I can't report just yet on using it for gaming, but it's easy to wipe down and is already flattening out quickly after setting a book on the curled-up end. The only (minor) issues I ran into were that it's longer than advertised, and has a few rough-cut edges. Not really worth knocking a star off, but notable towards the quality of the item & listing. The length was pretty important since I wanted it to fit within the confines of my monitor stand, which measured right at 36". The mat is more like 37 3/4" -- thankfully for me that just means I had to set it under the feet of my monitor stand, but I felt this may be helpful for anyone working with specific measurements! The rough edges aren't immediately noticeable but when you do see it, it throws off the overall sleek look. Not the end of the world, I'm sure it can be trimmed off. Five stars regardless. :)
