A real asset to our family's tennis program
Played a lot when I was younger but now helping the kids as their interest has grown and skills are improving. Basic tools provided and was easy to assemble. Was a little hesitant on assembly so 'googled' and found there was a youtube video but wasn't needed. I learned tennis 'old school' so consistency with ball height and speed were key, and this rebounder helps to maintain consistency in my kids' swing, as well as, providing it back to them in the delivery. We've been practicing/training together for 4 years now, but this is the first machine that provides this manner of consistency. Other rebounders we had were unpredictable in the ball feel and there was a sense the ball was coming too fast. Have been very satisfied so far with the Tennis Partner 3 and will update again.

Like a backboard but with better timing and more consistent return
I think this is a good value for warm up drills and practice in the driveway when you do not have the time to go play. My wife and I are intermediate players (3.5-4.0) and the kids are beginners. For us, it works fine, returns about 4 out of 5 and if you get in a groove, 9 out of 10. The missed shots are hit too light or miss the target. For the kids, it is a challenge to get in a groove and I think most beginners will struggle to get the racket speed and rhythm right. Hopefully it will help them progress and learn the game quicker, but do not expect this to be a stand alone drill for beginners.Assembly is much easier if you watch the youtube video first. The printed instructions lack detail and would be frustrating on their own. It took me about 30-45 mins to assemble including watching the video. It then took about another 30 mins to get the angles right. The instructions leave out a lot of detail on the angles and positioning of the various adjustable parts. Using trial and error, you just have to remember that it is adjustable in 4 places (ball outlet, tension on net, the black bar, and the stand alone rebounding pads). This is an outdoor piece of equipment, as it is too tall for us to easily move in and out of our garage. The top of the unit hits our garage door and you really have to tilt it almost parallel to get it low enough to get through a garage door...just not feasible in the long run to move it in and out. If you have room, you could plausibly use it in a garage because once you clear the door, the ceiling should be high enough for it to fit.The adjustable bar seems like a design flaw. I think you have to put it in or remove it depending on which mode you want and that you cannot leave it in for ground strokes. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but left in, it in really throws off the bounce returns. I'm mostly deducting 1 star for this reason as it seems that minimal engineering effort could correct this, and this is version 3.There are 4 black knobs that came in the box that seem to have no use. If you have OCD, prepare yourself for a minor crisis when you have no explanation for where they go. Thanks for asking, I'm fine now.Bottomline, I think this is a good driveway alternative to a ball machine, which we also own and use about 1x month. I think we will get much more use out of this and may even be fun to develop some partner drills.
