Hongdian never disappoints me
Tried this pen as soon as it arrived and it writes beautifully, smooth with just a little feedback. The size is comparable to a TWSBI Eco, but it's quite a bit heavier and of course the nib is a lot bigger. The cap posts securely on the back and isn't overly back-heavy. I'm not a fan of the seams in the design, but that's just a small thing when everything else is 100% perfect.

excellent
the pen arrived in a metal container inside a cardboard box, so no damage.First let me say the pen is a thing of beauty superb design.I have not written with the pen yet as i have no ink this will be done after the Christmas rush has died down and i will order some bottled ink,so i will update this review, but make no mistake the instrument is superb and i expect to be delighted with the performance.

Cheap way to try a #8 nib!
#8 nibs are very overpriced, and apart from some of the larger Jinhao models there are very few ways to dip your toes into this area of fountain pens without handing over a significant amount of money for a pen that comes with one.Thankfully, this pen is reasonably priced, and comes with a #8 nib that writes very well. It is distinguished from the Jinhao models with #8 nibs by the fact that it comes with an Ebonite feed, allowing for wetter writing.I also like the tactile textured plastic of the barrel, akin to that of a 3D poster. The grip is comfortable and quite large, and the pen can be posted but it does become rather large when doing so.My one complaint is the lack of nib sizes - would it really hurt one of the lower-end manufacturers to come up with a broad or stub #8 nib? Or even a #6, as there seem to be a severe lack of broader nibs being offered by Chinese pen companies.

High quality oversize pen
My first taste of Hongdian's size 8 nib. It's an excellent pen, finished to a high quality. The large nib has a bit of bounce to it, just enough to add some flair to your writing when you want it, and has a consistent, wet flow of ink. Keeps up with fast writing as well, and if you need a finer line it writes decently reversed, not scratchy or dry like many pens. The nib has some smooth feedback that helps with handwriting, and won't skate or skid across slippery papers like Clairefontaine. The section is the most comfortable of all the #8 nib pens I've tried. The only downside this pen has is the moire finish has a line running down it, which can sometimes be misaligned when you cap the pen, as the cap is multithreaded.
