It does what it needs and the sparks light flammable objects. It’s a primitive fire starting tool - what more can you realistically expect

Can't camp without it
I wouldn't go camping or set up a go-bag without this fire starter. It works perfectly. Well worth the cost.

Not too bad, takes a little bit to get the magnesium off the rod. But did the job, made a fire.

Great buy
Very sturdy and well made. Very good size, much larger than the cheapy ones that come in most buggout kits, But still very portable. The paracord is a nice add on and for it adding leverage and grip. I'd buy this again.

Great for building survival skills
We bought two of these! First one I bought just to try out. It was inexpensive and I thought, "why not?" My four year old LOVED it for his birthday! It was easy for him to figure out the concept. It is easy to get sparks going with a good flick! It does take a little focus and fine motor skills. I bought another one for my 6 year old. These outdoor boys of mine LOVE using them.

Very handy! I have several of these and wanted one for my hiking day pack for emergency purposes. Great fire starter and the paracord and whistle are a handy addition. Good size and lightweight - I bought a little dry bag to carry it in, not included
