Sad but true
This book certainly opened my eyes. It's a sad cruel world, infact it's a tradgedy people let this happen all over the world. I had to keep reading to find out what happens to Tavi and all the other boys. I'll admit there were times when I felt I couldn't read anymore due to the content it made me feel ill, however I just had to read it to find out who if anyone survived. After finishing this book I downloaded Boys for sale-Redemption and half way through that already. Truely gripping story. Not for the faint hearted though. Very well written.

A sometimes harrowing yet gripping story which I highly recommend you read.
I always make a habit of downloading a few books to my kindle about the country I'm travelling in. That way, during those inevitable long journeys and/or delays, I can pass the time learning something about the culture or history of the country I'm in.I downloaded 5 books of different genres for my time in Thailand. Some were light-hearted travel stories... this book clearly was not.I selected this TOPIC even though I knew it would be difficult to digest. But just because something makes us uncomfortable doesn't mean that it's not real and that we should bury our collective heads in the sand.... hoping that there is comfort in ignorance and/or avoidance of the subject.Personally I think a tragedy is made worse when we deny its existence... and for these reasons I wanted to learn and understand more about this subject. This particular BOOK was informative, gripping, had me emotionally involved and was, importantly, educational.Don't be ignorant of the truth of the topic just because you will feel this story in the pit of your stomach due to it being so well told.Read it.... you simply must.

DIFFICULT SUBECT BUT WORTH READING
The book was a difficult subject but one worth reading to understand how these things can happen and how youngsters are caught in the trap which they cant get out of. I would have liked to understand more the location, as it was difficult to picture in your mind what part of the world it was set in, and there was conflicting issues, thinking you were in India but then finding some of the boys had blond hair or blue eyes! Plus, I do appreciate that it said book one, but I hate books that leave you up in the air, its just a ploy to get you to purchase another book.

Challenging at times but thoroughly enjoyable and very readable
A suprisingly enjoyable book - suprising in terms of its subject matter! Yes, it is challenging and extremely eye-opening, but also written with a real warmth and depth of characters. You become very attached to Tavi and his life. I found it un-put-down-able and instantly bought the next book when I finished this one as I wanted to know what came next, although this does standalone very well as a book in it's own right. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys reading !

Horrifically Engrossing
This is by no means an enjoyable read. But once started, I stayed up all night to finish it. The fastest I have ever read a book. Although this is a novel, I had to keep reminding myself that the details of the story are all based on facts. And they are very disquieting. But this is so well written that I had to keep reading, as if, by finishing this quicker, I saved the boy quicker.

Shocking story of Child sex slaves
I know this book is not autobiographical but the characters were so believable i cried many tears for their tormented tortured lives. There are so many poor children all over the world that are hunted down and abused by disgusting paedophiles and i hope that this book is read and shared so that people are aware and then hopefully help save a child from this abuse.

harrowing... Interesting....
A good read. I couldn't put this down. This may be fiction but the principle is there, loud and clear. These boys are manipulated, groomed, traumatised, severely abused and brainwashed in a way that the Author has cleverly demonstrated how not far off this scenario is from reality. And how vulnerable children and young people can be programmed and frightened into submission. Drugs feature in this story as it does in the dark side of the worlds goings ons. It shows how abusers can be anyone, those in a position of trust and those who you'd least expect and those who are cleaver (or think they are cleaver). There is a lot going on in the world that is hidden. Everyone has a duty to protect children. Don't ignore what you consider to be wrong. Speak out. Tell someone.

Confused
I gave this a three star rating as the prologue and the end of book one didn't tally and therefore confused me totally. I re read the prologue twice as usually this gels with the end of the book but not in this case. I enjoyed the book but was disappointed with the abrupt unexplained ending which totally confused me because of the prologue at the beginning of the book. My feeling was that perhaps book 1 & 2 was once one book and split into two if this is the case then maybe the prologue would have made some sense. Is this the case
