This is a huge improvement compared to the android radios that came out a even just few years ago. They still sell those now and they are not bad but this one is great and much improved. The processor is faster and this 6G/128G unit is very fast and much better than my last radio. Carplay was a bit tricky to get set up but I had to actually read the manual and set up the bluetooth first and then Carplay works perfectly! I also had to change the back up camera type in the factory settings (Code 1234) to CVBS and the unit now shows my factory installed (US Model) backup camera display, The surround is gloss black and it looks very nice with the wood trim. Also the built in equalizer is very easy to tune, all the outputs are good and the sound quality is excellent. I highly recommend this unit. Get some Tesa soft tape so that when you install it you can wrap the wiring harness and put a little around the bezel to pad against the dash. Very impressed with this unit. If you still have a stock radio get this one. If you have an older android unit without carplay then this is an extremely worthwile upgrade.

If I could give a “0” I would. This is absolutely false advertising. DO NOT BUY! The display is a universal unit, the wiring harness is worthless and provides none of the functions required to plug and play, and the additional equipment is not in any world, applicable to the GL450. The instructions provided say plug this and that and ok your running. Not in any lifetime. Put it simply, if you are talented enough to ring out the correct wiring individually, un-pin and repin 2 wires that are incorrect, make your own custom jumper, and then splice into the car harness to pick up the correct signals to make the unit work; you are a professional installer and getting paid handsomely to do the work. If not, do NOT waste your money.

Great product! Instructions aren’t great. Installed on a 2011 Mercedes ML350. You will require the optical decoder separate purchase.On the wiring harness you need to switch the green cables to connect to the harness plug that’s used for your vehicle for it to power up. Connecting optical decoder requires you to splice into cables, do this on the harness not factory cables. Amazon does have factory connection cables for the GPS and Backup Cam to make this install clean and flawless.Unit operates fast, love it. Brought new life to a great vehicle that was severely lacking on technology even when it was brand new!

works very well with my 2006 ML350. The back up camera is a bit more difficult to install but not necessary.

Extremely disappointing. Neither the first or second one would power up. Simply not compatible with my GL450. Absolutely no product support, you’re on your own, 2 stereo shops couldn’t make it work, and again no one to ask what’s wrong. Save yourself the headache.

The media could not be loaded. Works very well on my Gl.

Not even close for 2010 gl450. Nothing matches.
