How does Proraso compare with Noxema?

Proraso is a much richer lather, and I think the smell is better

Proraso, great manufacturer, great products, I actually use several of them. But seriously, $9 a can? Is it worth it?

I experimented with shaving products for more than a decade (including even more expensive shaving creams) - I have very think hair and used to get numerous cuts. I switched to Proraso a few years ago and never switched again - worth every penny. Other foaming creams don't come close. More recently, I found even better formula for excellent shave (in case u also have thick hair) - I first apply non foaming shaving cream (I use Mistral), and then apply Proraso. I use Gillet pro glide power for shaving. I used to think power handle was just gimmick, but found it amazing - think blade surface gliding and moving side by side to prevent cuts. With these three steps, nicks and cuts GONE! Hope this helps.

Is some pre-shave product recommended for use along with this, when using electric shaver?

Proraso Pre-Shave Cream is not formulated to be used with an electric shaver. The texture and viscosity, which make it so effective, would clog your shaver. We do, however, suggest using either the Refresh or Sensitive formula After Shave Balm after shaving with your electric shaver. It’s the perfect way to soothe, seal and moisturize your skin and pores post-shave.

fantastico!!!!

having had shaving rash on and off for 45 years (i am 64!) i decided to go for a shaving foam that was listed as being ideal for sensitive skin ... and i also went to a one blade razor, just like my dad! from the moment i used both ... smooth as the proverbial baby's bum. the foam is dense, rich and does not irritate at all ... and seems to soften the bristles easily. in addition i gotta say i think the packaging is cool .... and its looks good on the shelf. do not go for a cheaper brand, its a false economy. this is perfecto (that's perfect in english if you are struggling to translate). ;-)

Good foam but not ideal for head shaving

I bought this specifically for shaving my head and it does an ok job, but it is not the best option for that use. The texture is nice and the scent is great, but I wish I had ordered a different product from this range instead because this one does not give the smooth finish I was hoping for. Still works well for a normal shave, just not my first choice for head shaving.

Lovely shaving foam

Just made my second purchase with the first one lasting four months. Absolutely lovely smell and consistency and as you can see from my comment, it lasts ages because this thing is massive. leaves my head nice and smooth with no shaving rashes.

Sehr angenehm für empfindliche Haut.

Der Rasierschaum von Proraso überzeugt mit einer cremigen Konsistenz und einem angenehmen Hautgefühl. Besonders bei empfindlicher Haut wirkt er beruhigend und hilft dabei, Hautreizungen nach der Rasur zu reduzieren. Der Schaum lässt sich gut verteilen, weicht die Barthaare ordentlich auf und sorgt für eine saubere, angenehme Rasur. Auch der Duft ist dezent und angenehm frisch. Für mich definitiv ein sehr guter Rasierschaum und eine klare Empfehlung.
