Practical Method of Italian Singing: For Soprano or Tenor (Vol. 1909)

I have a version of this book in the Baritone range, but have gifted this version to a friend who is in the higher ranges (singing in both alto and soprano ranges). The book isn't just a "one-time pass" textbook, but should be on the radar of every vocalist as an excellent technique and/or warm-up book, especially for intervals. In lessons, I use the interval, syncopation, roulade, and other early examples at every weekly lesson...and have for at least 4 years. Highly recommended for all levels of all students who can read music.

Had this in college and needed one for a current voice student. Very fast shipping and just what we needed.

Ordered it for my father. He's a fan of singing Italian opera and loves this book. He said there are lots of vocal exercises, as well as great musical numbers.

This little book is so good. It has 22 different exercises and covers all the basics of singing. Notes have been included at the start of the book on how to pronounce Italian vowels and consonants etc.I use this book constantly, with one or two other training books, and can honestly say it is one of the best buys I've made.

Still a classic for vocal pedagogy! While I find myself not implementing it as much in my teachings, it's still a great tool for the ultimate beginner. You establish the fundamental Italianate vowels in a accessible yet progressive format. Each vocalize/excerpt increases in interval distance. Excerpt 1 is all stepwise. Excerpt two is in thirds. Excerpt three is in fourths. Etc. The piano accompaniments are also accessible enough so that you can play beautifully but also monitor your student closely. All in all, this is great for beginners who are just starting to venture into "classical" singing.

This standard vocal method is a must for any vocal studio . At this price it is affordable and much appreciated by both teachers and students of singing.

I didn't know exactly what to expect when I started lessons again in my life. I am thankful this book includes a section on pronouncing Italian vowels and consenants in what combinations. Also the English translation is included with each song in case you do not as I do not know Italian and want to know what you are learning to sing.

Well written, quick little songs, excellent for vocal warmups during voice lessons.

The best version of Vaccai Practical Method of Singing - a must have to learn and practice singing.

There are specialist books, and then there are very specialist books. If you are working towards music exams and in particular singing exams, and need to take your singing to another level, then this book is absolutely excellent.But don't try it if you're just starting out learning to sing.

J'ai acheté ce bouquin en pensant faire une bonne affaire. C'est le cas, comparé à ceux qu'on peut trouver en France, le prix restant attractif.Les partitions sont transposées généralement de 1/2 ton, voire 1 par rapport à la version originale.Des traductions anglaises ont été apportées et l'Italien est quelque peu négligé. En effet, des "a" remplacent des "i".Mise à part le prix, c'est bien la seule chose qui pourrait vous pousser à acheter cet article, sans compter le temps d'expédition relativement élevé compte tenu du lieu d'expédition de l'objet.Les erreurs restent néanmoins surmontables pour l'apprentissage de l'air, des rythmes et des paroles (pour lesquelles il faudra parfois opérer des changements).Cordialement,

In meiner bisherigen Unterrichtspraxis habe ich als einzige akzeptable Gesangsschule, die von Vaccai "ge-und be-funden! Das ist einfach in durchdachtes Gesamtwerk um auch jedem Pop, oder nicht Klassiker davon zu überzeugen, dass er ja ohnehin etwas über Tonleitern wissen muss! Er "fährt" also zweigleisig mit dem in "Kauf" nehmen einer nicht ganz gewollten Musik-Stilrichtung. Und dennoch auch etwas über den Klassik Gesang erfährt, und zu praktizieren in die Lage kommt. Viele haben es mir im nach hinein gedankt. Der Effekt ist einfach unschlagbar, wenn man als "Poper" auch Kenntnis um die ernste Musik hat, und diese sogar an Hand von Vaccai - vorführen kann! Also, jedem sei empfohlen diese aussergewöhnlichen Vaccai - Hefte - näher in Gebrauch zu ziehen!
