For general consumer use this is probably overkill, but maintaining an active connection with all the inputs makes all the difference when one or more of those requires a physical disconnection and reconnection to redetect settings every time you switch. Bonus: almost no delay when I switch.

This is an excellent matrix switch. It switches between 8 inputs and outputs easily with the remote control or by the front panel. It has a lan connection as well as a serial input for more advanced configurations. I simply use mine as a switch using the remote control. It's nice to be able to send any input to any of up to 8 monitors. Note that if you are planning on using this in a quiet office that it's going to be a bit loud. This has a fan that is fairly loud. I think this may have been designed for more of a commercial environment. I have a 4x4 version of this which is silent and has no fan. I'm going to swap the fan out for a quieter Noctua fan or similar. Other than that, this thing is super easy to use. Just punch a button for the input and a button for the output for basic use. More complex setups can be configured.

It works but it doesn’t do everything that it says it will do. It doesn’t rotate the screens(you can’t mount the top TVs upside down). You can’t make the top two screens combine and have something different on the bottom screens. The only options you have is one big combined screen or 4 separate screens.

It works okay. Unfortunately, the internal fan probably needs replacing as it's making a lot of noise on startup, and the EDID is NOT customizeable on the output. I have several projectors that are 1920x1200, and i've had to scale them down to 1920x1080, and there is no firmware update for even adding that to the output. I guess you get what you pay for. In addition, it sometimes hangs up on the ports output (freezes the output) and i have to unplug the port and plug it back in to get the feed going again.
