Peak District Mountain Biking - Dark Peak Trails is the full second edition of the groundbreaking mountain bike guidebook Dark Peak Mountain Biking - True Grit Trails , described by leading mountain biking website Bikemagic.com as 'far and away the best Peak guide we've come across.' All route information has been thoroughly checked for this new edition, to give the most up-to-date and comprehensive guidebook to some of the finest and most popular riding in the country. As with all new Vertebrate MTB guidebooks, this new edition features industry-standard Ordnance Survey mapping, and is illustrated with stunning action photography. Featured within the book are 26 of the best mountain bike rides in the Dark Peak, between 11.5 and 105 (!) kilometres in length, suitable for all levels of mountain bikers. Researched, ridden and written by a local rider, each route features easy-to-follow directions; details of distance, timings and difficulty gradings; refreshment stops and local knowledge; and clear and easy to use Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 maps. A Bonus Section includes Top Ten Climbs, Downhills and Singletracks, Sheffield City Links and a detailed Appendix. Review: Handy little book - Great present for my husband. Lovely maps to help navigating Peak District Review: Perfect - As with the it's White Peak sister book, one of the best small MTB route books that I have come across. Compact with good narratives and maps.

Good guide, worth having even for a local
Useful to find new routes in an area I know quite well. Well laid out and small enough to take with you. Only drawback is that the routes tend to be a bit short.

Must buy for anyone planning a trip to the Peaks!
Iโm only just starting my MTB adventure. I like many others came through the road bike to gravel bike to MTB route. Iโm used to planning routes so I initially intended to use the usual Komoot / Strava etc. What I didnโt bank on is how much local knowledge helps when planning. Thankfully a friend recommended this and after an initial scan through I knew it meant business. I now intend to get the full set when Iโve had a go at some of these. The detailed Route description is great and helped me decide whether or not itโs suitable for my skill level before Iโve got anywhere near the trail. Iโm blessed to have good access to the peaks, lakes and the dales so I will be definitely buying their respective guides.

Great rides.
I have a number of books in this series and they are all really well written, illustrated and put together. The rides are fairly described. Obviously anyone heading out in the hills should have the right gear and a good bike some of the routes are pretty challenging, but hopefully anyone that is going to do them would actually know that!

Great guide to some of the best mountain biking in the UK
Easy to follow directions for the routes, with optional detours and ways to link to other routes. I've just moved to Sheffield and this is quickly helping me to find some of my favourite trail sections.

Got a new mountain bike and i'm buying everything like this #3
Perfect useful book, you can't go wrong with these. Not completed all the rides yet but of the ones i've used this has been a really essential guide.
