The Teradek Ace 750 is a great budget option for people in the production landscape looking to add a new mobile camera to their setup. Right out of the box, the transmitter and receiver were connected and would start transmitting video without a setup via the phone controlled app. Our team used it for the first time in our live production and it worked flawlessly without issues of dropping video throughout our auditorium.

Pros: Great quality image no noticeable latency Cons: Manufacturer does not recommend use with DJI gimbal due to signal interference. Has paring issues from time to time

While the system includes two units, it only comes with one power supply. If you need both units powered at once, you’ll have to purchase an additional supply at $120+. These units have no internal batteries, meaning you must rely on external power or invest in optional battery packs. The advertised $999 price tag does not cover everything you’ll need—be prepared for extra costs before these units are fully operational.

These are nice compact units but do need some help to work well. We now have 6 of these units running simultaneously to feed a Black Magic ATEM mini extreme and a large screen auditorium display. Positives: 1. Very little latency so live productions can be recorded and displayed at the same time. 2. Compact, low weight to mount on camera shoes. 3. 2 Frequencies bands (5K and 6K) that are selectable 4. Software to enable viewing transmission and receiving conditions and frequencies 5. Ability to see the temperature of each unit. 6. More than 1 receiver can be paired to a transmitter. 7. Automatically adjusts to incoming frame rates and resolution up to 4K. Negatives: 1. Due to high frequencies used the receiver can be blocked by people and other objects causing dropouts. 2. Use of a heat sink is mandatory. Even at 1080p/30 a receiver will overheat and not produce an HDMI output. The units will approach 90 degrees C without a heat sink. Some units will continue to work some won't. The small heatsinks pictured reduced the temperature by 20 degrees. In spite of these issues, by using a heat sink (see photos) and ensuring line of sight between units the product performs very well.

I’ve been using this wireless transmitter for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed with the performance. Setup was straightforward, connection has been solid, and latency is minimal, which makes it reliable in real world use, not just on paper.

No menus like the higher end Teradek. Dropped signals non stop on a live production. Didn’t look great to my client. Don’t buy cheap.
