Let me set the stage on why a robot vacuum is an essential tool for me by introducing the members of my household, aka the source of the mess. **Subject 1 - My 3-year-old daughter:** Cute, adorable, sweet, a drama llama; she’s everything I could wish for. Despite my wife and I washing her hands 500 times a day, she manages to maintain a pair of sticky, oily hands with a hint of grape juice and cheddar cheese Goldfish. **Subject 2 - White senior rescued Standard Poodle:** The perfect partner in crime to my 3-year-old. While my daughter stamps her little oily hands on my wood floor, my poodle spreads that oil like you spread Miracle Whip on bread. **Subject 3 - Red senior rescued Doberman:** A literal walking pine tree. Oh, don’t be deceived by his thin layer of hair without an undercoat. He drops so many red "pine needles" that if he gets lost in my neighborhood, I could probably retrieve him by following his trail of hairs. The fact that he sheds so much yet hasn’t gone bald is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I bought a T20 Omni(the previous generation to the T30S I am reviewing today) last year, used it; was somewhat satisfied with it, and now bought this new T30s so I can move my T20 to my second floor and have my T30s takes care of the 1st floor instead. The purchase has transformed my house chores in a way that I no longer need to vacuum and mop my floor; I can now finally provide undivided attention between listening to my wife and washing dishes. Here are a few points to note. Otherwise, I have no complaint with the T30s Mapping: I can't stress how important mapping is to any new robot vacuum, a good map dictates: a. the machine's obstacle avoidance ability, b. the robot's path algorithm, and c. room division and cleaning The T30S consistently mapped my 1st floor about 2 to 3 times faster than my T20 Omni. Not only that, but I was able to create a fully functional map on the 2nd try. On my T20 Omni, I could get a not-so-perfect map maybe after 8 tries, if I was blessed by the Lord of Light. Mapping Confusion: Both the T30s and the T20 Omni have issues scanning my rear sliding door. The laser penetrates the glass and mistakes my outdoor patio floor for another room; because of this, it creates an open-ended space; this confuses the heck out of the app and makes in-app room division extremely annoying. Here's my fix, I took my daughter's roll of art paper, with the help of blue tape, (which can be purchased from, yours truly "Amazon") created a faux barrier at the laser's height. Cabinet Toe Kick Issue: The T30s is about a quarter of an inch shorter than my T20 Omni. On spec, it doesn’t mean much, but in real life, this makes a world of difference. My T20 Omni’s laser just so happens to be high enough that the laser catches my kitchen’s lowest drawer and thinks it’s a wall; this causes the T20 to altogether skip the edge by the toe kick, which is usually the dirtiest place. The T30s scans the toe kick properly and cleans the floor right up to the toe kick. Edge Cleaning: I am pretty sure my T20 Omni was secretly an animal rights activist, especially toward the ant in my house; it never cleans the edge, and I mean any edge. There was always a 3-inch moat against my wall and furniture, to provide a bike lane for my resident house ants. The T30s, on the other hand, sends its little protruding arm and mops all the way to the edge. Map Lost Issue: In the first 2 months of my T20 Omni’s ownership, the app would lose either the robot’s last location or the entire map for the most ridiculous reasons. - My wifi router had a firmware update and restarted during the night? The map was gone - There was a power outage? The map was gone - My mother-in-law wasn’t having a good day? poof, the map was gone. I could sneeze at my T20 Omni and I bet ya the map would be gone. I give props to Ecovacs for listening to customers’ complaints. I am happy to say they have completely rectified the issue on the T30s. In the last 2 weeks that I have been using my T30s, I’ve had multiple occasions in which I thought it would fall into the map lost loop and thrash my saved map right out the window and it didn’t. It was able to immediately locate itself and get back to the base station. No more, “Houston, we’ve had a problem.” issue. Base Station Water Tank: This is probably the only gripe I have on the T30s; c’mon Ecovacs, how do you go backward on your water tank design? The T20 Omni was equipped with an extremely sturdy water tank with hard clear plastic and a springed lid latch that simply provided confidence. There is a sense of reassurance when the latch clinches to the tank with a mechanical thud, that I can hold the tank by the top handle and not worry about the lid swinging open and pouring the water down my floor. The T30s uses a much softer plastic and the latch is only tension-loaded by the strength of the plastic. Overall: I am extremely happy about the T30s. It strikes the perfect balance between function and price. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone considering a robot vacuum to take a serious look at the T30s.

****2nd update**** 11/22/25 T30S Combo The replacement started to not empty into the dustbin and said the bag was full and needed to be replaced. After replacing the bag multiple times it still wasn’t working and then I noticed the handheld wouldn’t release from the base. I followed all the self help steps and contacted support and it still wouldn’t work. I unplugged the unit and let it set for a few months and when I plugged it back in the floor vacuum did auto empty although it doesn’t sound like the motor that sucks the dirt out is running like normal. However at least I am able to use the robot. I paid $900 for this unit and I love it when it works. They have also been easy to deal with on the service side. I would also say the app has had a few updates and works well. It’s frustrating that it isn’t reliable but I do love it when it works. ****Updated**** 20March25 The company did honor their warranty and provided me with a new unit that works just as well as the first one did when brand new. This product does require some time to properly set up and get working the way you want it to. But once you get the house maped, rooms labeled and get the settings where you want them it's fantastic and worth the time to set up. PRO TIP: Once you have your map set up and labeled BACK IT UP. If you leave a door closed for too long, move furniture around drastically it can cause you to have map issues and the robot will start creating a new map. Backing up your perfect map, will save you a lot of time and headache. They did make the warranty process as easy as possible. As soon as they received confirmation that I sent back the old unit, they shipped the replacement. I waited a few months before I updated the review. I will update again after I have used this one for 6 months. January 2025: Purchased this in July 2024 and end of November it started to have mapping issues. Reset to factory and remapped the house and then I started getting bumper stuck errors. I tried to fix this myself, used a can of air and a vacuum to try and blow any dust that might be in the sensor causing the sensor to malfunction but it didn't fix it. I finally took the time to call the tech support. They were very helpful and didn't make me do a bunch of stuff I already tried (which I appreciated). They sent me an email where I had to send proof of purchase, video of the error, and my information and after they review the information if they think it is a warranty issue they will send me a label to send it in to be fixed. This is my third and most expensive robot vacuum. The fist was a samsung that didn't have an auto empty, it lasted three years and died when my daughter moved back home with a golden retrieve. The motor burned up from not emptying the bin. The second was a iRobot Roomba that had the auto empty it lasted two years and then had issues emptying, saying the bag was full when it wasn't. When this came, I loved it, the technology was great when it worked. I loved that it mopped and vacuumed my floors. The hand held vacuum was handy and useful for quick clean ups or to clean the furniture. I purchased it from Amazon because it was on sale and at the best price I could find at $900. I am disappointed that it only lasted 6 months and I am not very hopeful that it is going to last more than a year, once the warranty runs out I will have to purchase another one and I think I will go back to the iRobot. I also think it will be worth purchasing from a different retailer that has more than a 30 day return policy such as Costco.

I bought this a couple weeks or so before xmas and it was swiftly delivered the day after xmas. Having gotten walloped by a flu, I've been responsibly huddled in my bed while responsibly feeling sorry for myself, and have been respectfully listening to my Asian girlfriend clean my house for me. She has an Asian woman's sense of cleanliness, amped up with an OCD toward cleanliness and turbo charged with a cosmic abhorrence toward cat hair. She's thorough. Having mostly conquered the pestilence within, I assembled "that moppy schlingy thing" (say that like an Asian woman), let it charge, downloaded the app, let it map the downstairs, and then I put it into its first clean/mop cycle. What got dumped into the dirty water tank (translation: what an OCD Asian cutness didn't clean off the floor) was gross. It was humbling (not for me, I'm a guy). Honestly, this little robot is thorough, it's quiet and it's freakishly good. The app seems pretty intuitive to use, and it allowed me to actually name the floor cleaner. (My buddy Greg said that "House Slave" is extremely insensitive, so I've named it Greg instead.) Looking at the map of my house what Greg cleans, I can see how accurate the map was - dining room, kitchen, The Dojo (aka powder room), main room, etc etc are all there, and you can watch the thing clean real-time on the app. Assembling and initially setup of Greg and the system was pretty easy - I really think it helps to have the app downloaded first. Really, all I did was install the robot's tray and then plug it in, and then put the cleaner into its nook to charge. The rest was the initial robot setup (date, time, region, cleaning preferences, etc). Actual Greg suggested that I add denture cleaner (those fizzy tablets that I buy my dad but go unused apparently) to cut down on the odor from the dirty water tank. As I've gone through two full cleaning cycles, I've yet to experience this, so I might use the tablets instead in my bath tub if I start to feel crappy again. Bottom line - well worth the buy so far. My floors, a combo of hardwood and carpets have never looked so good. I've got a persian rug that was getting kind of dusty (Asian girlfriend calls it gross and in need of the dump), but I think all it needed was a good vacuuming or two. I think a daily dose of Greg will do the trick, honestly. Setup was easy, the app is intuitive and the cleaning robots are thorough and quiet. I forgot quiet. No one has aver cleaned my house and been that quiet.

My wife and I recently remodeled our downstairs and decided to get a Deebot T30S model to help keep the new floors clean. When we received the product, it was easy to set up. I had set up the different rooms after it did its scan and set up boundaries. The first two times running the problem to tell it to start cleaning went well; the app did a good job tracking the whereabouts of the bot, letting me see the route nicely. However, after a week, the bot started having issues itself, mostly docking itself back in its station. It will not back up all the way and get stuck and need to leave, then after two tries, it needs to remember where the base is and starts roaming the room. I had to re-sync it to the app and home base. Shortly after that, the app started having issues where the app would be slow to load; it would tell me the bot is offline, even though it is in the dock. I found out later that the bot either did not go back far enough or the charging failed, and it shut off, requiring me to turn the station back on manually. Once I got it back working, the app would only allow viewing the map as it was cleaning for a short moment before the screen went blank and showed nothing, having me to close the app and reload to have it repeat every time. The Dual ZeroTangle Anti-Tangle Technology works okay; maybe compared to other bots, it is amazing. However, I have four dogs, three of which are huskies, so every two or so runs, I would have to pop open the bot and clean out the wheel and teeth. the separate vacuum is nice with the attachments you get. However, the capacity limits its function, but it is good for taking care of dust bunnies that may appear before the bot cleans as the bot will avoid dust bunnies that are as tall as it. The edge cleaning was cool and great, and the hot pad washing auto-empty were all great features, but for $999 and the issues I was having, it was not worth trying to figure out what was happening or maybe getting a replacement. I decided to return it before the return window instead.

**Revised and 2 stars added** after a second call I revised the original review. Removed DON'T BUY and changed Terrible Support to decent support. Got a different person and they opened an RMA for factory repair. I would have been out my brand new robot at least a week if not two. They still blamed my Unifi mesh network despite me testing with a single access point which wasn't enough to cover my 2, 344 square foot home (as a side note, I'm a network engineer by trade and install wireless networks for a living). At any rate network drops continued to happen no matter how good the signal strength or how close to that single AP. Then, magically, the unit started working a couple days later and started working or stopped dropping network even with full mesh network active again. Baffled by floors are super clean! This thing seemed to be great at cleaning and mopping. Everything worked great for a week. Zero issues and then started losing connection to network. A lot of functionality is lost when it doesn't have a WiFi connection. When I called EcoVacs, they blamed my network and said modern mesh networks are not supported. So if you have a large house requiring any kind of wireless extender or multiple access points, don't buy this. This fact should also be clearly advertised. I own an IT company for a living and have been a network engineer for over 20 years and can guarantee it is not my network. There is an issue with the wireless chip or firmware in the unit. I spent $60 on aftermarket accessories with EcoVacs because I loved it when it was working. My only option now is to return to Amazon for a refund. No replacement option and EcoVacs will not help. Terrible support so far, but I am going to give them one more chance.

This review, for context, is coming from a T8/N8 series unit which I've had for several years. The T8/N8 can mop, but its manual (you put the pad in and fill) and doesn't scrub -- just wipe. The T50 has several improvements. The T8/N8 series simply can't mop unattended at all, and it has issues with other than lowest-pile carpets. You can address this by trimming the rubber brush component VERY SLIGHTLY without any material impact on its performance. It still works and has been relegated to my basement, which is all hard (engineered) surface. The T50 does a credible job on mixed-surface environments, which is why I figured it might be worth the money. It can be told to vacuum carpet first, which is a mixed bag. IMHO you want to run mopping as a completely separate operation, NOT MIXED with the other things it does, but that is MY take on it. Yours may vary. The mapping is EXTREMELY fast compared with the older models and unlike the older ones it is less-tall as it doesn't have the protruding laser sensor; its in the front and on the side. As such it will fit under couches and other furniture the other does not. That's excellent; the other had to have an exclusion zone set around some furniture or it would get severely confused and could wreck the map, which is a serious PITA. This one doesn't have that problem at all as the sensors are much closer to the floor. One caution -- CHECK THE MAP after it first sets it up. It may or may not be reasonable; if you see things that aren't run the mapping again. I had it think there was no wall in one place where there was which caused it to have a "miss" area that it has to cover in the laundry room; re-mapping resolved it immediately. It does a good job on both hard floors (engineered, tile or real wood) and carpeting/area rugs. I do not allow it to mop my real wood as I simply don't trust anything but the cleaner I use for that, by hand -- on engineered or tile its fine, but you will be very unhappy if real wood gets damaged, so use your head. Also, I found a place for the base that is on tile (since the unit has a water tank in it and thus COULD leak, a disaster on real wood.) I recommend setting up a completely separate mop cycle for those areas of your home that need to be/should be mopped, and having it vacuum FIRST. The company advertises that it can detect and avoid things it shouldn't run over (e.g. pets.) Whether it can detect something like cat puke is not yet determined..... yeah that's bad if your automated vacuum runs over and tries to pick that up; you will not like the results. Just saying. Cleaning performance is excellent; it does a bit better job of getting into corners with the articulated "grabber" brush on wood and other hard surfaces than the older model, and the anti-tangle appears to work very well (I have animals so hair was a consideration with the other and had to be checked on the main roll every week or so.) No issues with that on this model as of yet at all. Battery-life wise its considerably longer than the T8/N8 series on a charge. The other model had to recharge during an "auto" clean in my home; this one finishes with ~30% power remaining. That's nice. Its also quite a bit quieter than the T8/N8. Its not silent obviously (it IS a vacuum!) but the noise level is not bad at all. The one thing to be aware of is that the mop loading/cleaning cycle at the base is a bit loud, and goes on for a bit. The dry cycle for the pads can be heard but is not obtrusive at all. I can't comment on durability or service life right now as the unit basically brand new, which is why only four stars instead of five. One reason I stuck with Ecovacs is that on the T8/N8 models, at least, they can be reasonably disassembled and parts (motors, etc.) CAN be had once the warranty expires -- and Ecovacs appears to have done a fair bit of work in detecting potential problems with those components and erroring the unit out (thus you know it needs real work) before the driver electronics are destroyed. Having had to replace a few things over the years in my T8 that matters as otherwise you're buying a whole new robot. This model is too new to know if the secondary parts flow will be there once it starts to become important (a year or two from purchase); hopefully so, but without some sort of commitment from the company, which is never there with these things, its all third-party (and mostly from Chinese sellers, often used unit pulls too so you have to be careful as those will never have the full service life of a new part.) Price/performance is up to you. These things aren't cheap and they DO NOT replace the need for a decent stick (carpet) vacuum if you have carpeting; they reduce the need, but do not eliminate it. You have to judge if the value is there.

O robô tem um dos melhores mops, dispenser para produto de limpeza, secagem dos mops, e todos os recursos que uma estação Omni oferece. Porém o problema começa quando você precisa encontrar peças de reposição, na própria Amazon simplesmente não existe, comprei um kit que vinha filtros, escovão, etc, porém o filtro hepa e a escova principal não encaixam, o filtro mais estreiro e o escovão central com encaixe diferente. Enfim, se você mora no Brasil, melhor ir de Roborock, que está presente no Brasil e você não vai morrer de raiva assim como eu.

I have been using this vacuum and mop for a few weeks and it has made cleaning my floors much easier. The suction is very strong, so it picks up dust, crumbs, and pet hair without leaving much behind. I like that it can also mop, which helps keep the floors looking fresh between deeper cleanings.
