Works but poor quality and probably very dangerous to drive with (especially with a Mercedes)
The media could not be loaded. 2 weeks ago, I got a 2021 C43 AMG (I've loving it) and I was looking for a wireless connection for Android Auto. However, the one I used before works, but all it does it make Android Auto connect through Bluetooth, which is what I want. However, Google and their wisest of wisdoms did not think to make Android Auto automatically scale to the full size of a car's infotainment system so to get rid of the annoying Android Auto Logo that takes up a third of my MBUX screen. Not going to blame Mercedes for that as Apple CarPlay works as intended by going full screen from the get-go. TBH, it wouldn't be so bad had the logo been on the passenger side of the screen but, no, it's on the driver side, so I'll have to take my eyes further off the road if I want to see what directions I need to follow or what station I'm listening to.So, after searching what felt forever just to see if there's a different Bluetooth dongle to work with, I heard Ottocast has a U2-X Pro dongle that supposedly does what I want: Connects through Bluetooth, can force Android Auto to use the entire screen of my MBUX, has sharp quality, and retain the steering wheel controls. But Ottocast is no longer selling those on Amazon for whatever dumb reason, and I'm not going to trust buying something for $150 from a random company that I've read somewhere has a shotty return policy, so I was forced to settled with this... it has failed.- It does force Android Auto to the fullscreen using Carplay's interface, but I guess Ottocast can't seem to program to make it so Android Auto scales the resolution - it looks like a 720p screen stretched to the width of infotainment screen instead of, maybe, using a higher resolution with custom dimension (or something close to that)- It can take the touchpad inputs from the steering, however, that only works as intended from the home screen. So, I thought it can cope with the poor resolution and move on but no, it gets worse. Instead of simply highlighting over the area I want, say to open the settings. The touchpad on my Merc's steering becomes like a trackpad for a laptop as you have to manually move a tiny mouse - which is not only laggy, but many times unresponsive - and pressing on the touchpad doesn't work well. I tried using the center wheel, which is what I'm used to at this point, but it's even more unreliable.

It adds some good vibe to your radio
I got tired of the wired car play so I added this to it. Pretty easy to set up, this is a mid level wirelesscar play system which is what I wanted and all I needed at the time. I think most of the negative reviewsare people not getting familiar with how it works. Don't expect a in car wifi to be fast that's not what it's for.Hot spotting your phone will get better results, wifi or sim cards from cellular carriers are ok but come at extra cost. I ended up upgrading to the Ottocast P3 because there were some addition apps I wanted to use.So far it's been flawless and a pleasure to use. I really like all the additional features it offers. Whatever you choose try to be realistic in your expectations, just going to wireless car play for me was a winner.

Does not work as advertised at all
I bought this product after having several previous wireless CarPlay adapters that had failed over time. This product has not worked since day one. It will not connect to my car or phones hotspot. I reached out to the company and the only thing they have told me is to update the software, which didn’t solve the issue. As a result, none of the apps which require internet work(Netflix, YouTube, etc..)The second issue is the basic wireless CarPlay functionality. 8 times out of 10 it fails to connect on the first attempt, meaning you must unplug the unit to get it to reset. Usually takes about 90 seconds to reboot and connect.I’m hopeful that it’s a faulty unit and the company would offer to send me a replacement, but that hasn’t happened yet.

2019 Porsche Cayman
For anyone wondering if this works on Porsche vehicles with only Apple CarPlay compatibility and want Android Auto functionality, I can confirm 100% that it will allow you to use Android Auto on an Apple-CarPlay-only Porsche. Awesome product!

Not what I had hoped for
I really wish this was a little more customizable and allowed playstore access. It works fairly well and quickly if you just want wireless carplay/aa but it's very demanding and tends to hold my phone hostage i literally have to turn on airplane mode and end connections while not allowing it to connect to bt or wifi if I forget ti unplug it. Internet was hit and miss too I linked with phone and cars Hotspot with decent results but if you change any settings for example date and time it messes with connectivity and won't connect to internet.

Do not recommend
I have had this for five months now and it is a major source of frustration. It is slow to boot, so you will be well on your journey before you get to use it. Also it disconnects and crashes android auto frequently. I originally bought this for my 2019 Rav 4 which only has Apple Play and I have an android phone. But it doesn't work for more than 20 minutes and it crashes then you have to unplug it, plug it back on and then wait for it to boot again (oh yeah did I say it takes a long time to boot) all this while you are trying to drive not very safe, and very frustrating when you are trying to do turn by turn directions and it crashes at an unfamiliar intersection.
