There is a nice long probe to enter the letter foldover.
I was a little worried because the probe was sort of flexible, but, it works just fine and with the blade on a slant it cute very well. I have used it on other sorts of wrapping as well as envelopes, and it has worked fine for that also.

Excellent Safety Letter Opener
I'd had a similar letter opener for decades, and it finally broke (while I was opening a ridiculously over-wrapped-in-shipping-tape package), and knew I needed to replace it ASAP. I found this set of 4, for a very reasonable price, and, with Prime shipping, had them delivered in two days. I strongly recommend these safety letter openers as safe, easy-to-use, and durable.

Nice Set of Openers
Wanted a regular letter opener and the extra little blade is nice to have, too. Will say that the letter opener is made a bit light but it works fine for what I need.

Great product for letter opening
Great product for letter opening! I didn't have any problems opening my mail! It took a little longer than expected to get to my home, but it eventually arrived...so no harm done! Am very pleased and will recommend to everyone I know!
