Great for knife making
Great tool to scribe lines for center of blade and for bevels when grinding knives. Easy to read doesn't really apply, I set the position of the scribe with a micrometer. Just color the area with a sharpie and use the scribe to make lines/marks, works great

Can’t center scribe smaller blade steel.
The diameter of the scribe does not allow scribing center of 1/8” or smaller blades. Completely useless for me.
