Patchouli is a cool deep earthy, woody, and rich musky, with very light hints of herbaceous and spicy notes depending on a person's body chemistry....
Estee Lauder Youth Dew is a warm comforting, memories smell. The base is derived from incense of Balsams, oskmosd, patchouli, Amber, Vetiver, vanilla and musk..
With spicy notes of Aldehydes, ( flower) Narcissus, Lavender, orange, peach, Bergamot, clove, cinnamon, rose Ylang Ylang, Jasmine and Lilly of the Valley....
Many of these smells are a flowery smell, however bc of the rich earthy and spices it is not an overpowering floral smell...
I have wore Patchouli, it is ist own oil. However with the mistires of the other fragrance I absolutely love EL Youth Dew... It carries a long lingering fragrance that continues to not be overwhelming...
I am 60 I have worn Youth Dew since I was 20 years old right out of college... It is a multi generational fragrance that is absolutely timeless...
You need to watch what and were you purchase, higher quality, is made with richer quality oils ... There is a difference in "Perfume" and "Parfume"...
The Par is a heavier oil content, takes very little just like quality oils...
Perfume has more alcohol content... The darker the color the richer the oils...
I am complimented on my " smell" all the time, and asked " what are you wearing, it smells so good"..
One thing to remember... Every fragrance will smell different on different people bc of our own individual body chemistry...
If you are a patchouli person then This fragrance will do well for you, bc the base has patchouli, and if patchouli isn't a fragrance you like,.... Acclimate to your body...
I later it with, a Estee youth dew lotion or body cream... It will carry you through out even the sweatiest days and still have a fresh wonderful smell...
