This radio is good quality for its price point. Everything worked right out of the box. Battery was about 60% charged and completed full charge in just under an hour. Radio worked well on the frequencies I needed. It also has the air frequencies so I can listen in on air traffic at the airport near my house.Let me be clear I am not a radio expert. There are other reviews that discuss the technical details in much more detail. I can speak to the fact that this radio is "unlocked". I can access all frequencies within the specifications both receive and transmit. There is one important note here, just because you can transmit in a particular frequency, doesn't mean it is legal to transmit on that frequency. This radio is not approved to transmit on some frequencies, such as GMRS. Some frequencies are legal to use if you have a license. And some are never legal to transmit on, such as the aircraft frequencies.That being said, the accessories it comes with all fit the radio and work well.There are plenty of videos online that show how to program and use the radio. It only takes a few minutes and you can be using the radio.Highly recommended. I have multiple Baufeng radios and they work very well.

For a $30 radio it packs lots of features. Both antennas work ok but, the short one is best for 70cm. Both antennas have an SWR around 3 in the 2 meter band. Best to invest in a good 2 meter antenna. A good antenna is going to cost as much as the radio, ha ha. It does put out 10W as measured by my meter. I like that it picks up FM broadcast and NOAA. Have not tried it with airport traffic but that sounds kinda cool. I bought the programming cable and downloaded CHIRP software, and it programs easily. The software is preloaded with FRS, GMRS, MURS, and other frequency data. Overall it's a nice little cheap toy to play with.

I purhased it because it will do 2 meter and 440 in the ham bands and also GMRS frequencies.

No problem so far, easy to learn if you do the research

This radio (with the correct antenna) can be a powerful little tool in your mobile arsenal!Don't discount the Beofeng and B-Tech radios.I've found them to be very capable when you need them!

This is the only handheld radio you should buy because it is capable of doing everything. That doesn't mean you should though. wink
