ZAGG Folio Case with Wireless Backlit Keyboard for 2017 [Gen 5] and 2018 [Gen 6] Apple iPad 9.7" - Black (A97ZFK-BB0)

Worked great and loved the keyboard look and feel but the hinge broke after 2 months. In retrospect I wouldn’t have bought it if i had seen other reviews from people with the exact same issue. Most lasted just 6 months mine only 2. Ironically the keyboard kept working even with the broken hinge i just couldn’t open and close it. I had to keep it open all the time.

This is a replacement for an old Zagg which was on the first Ipad I purchased 8-10 years ago. Recently replaced that Ipad unit and thus wanted a new case. The old one was not completely worn out but was getting there. This unit works well - have had it several months and the batter is still going strong. The comfort is a 4 star for me as it does stay open on its own but some of the positions are less secure in the open position than I would like in that it tends to move out of that position......if that makes sense. Zagg makes quality products that last well and the batter life on my old case was still exceptional even after many years. I use the Ipad daily and I only have to recharge the batter once per year or max twice.

Revised x2 - After 6 months of being very happy, the hinge broke that holds the keyboard to the screen. Extremely disappointed. It was a great case while it lasted. Will not buy this again.Revised —. The keys are backlit, but poor directions. I had to accidentally find the short cut keys. So it’s perfect keyboard case.Really like this case. Keys are sturdy and distinctive to touch, not soft or squishy. Sleek look on outside, feels very durable. Allows opening and placement of iPad up to a bit past 90 degree angle and doesn’t fall over. It’s lighter than other cases I looked at. The only negative would be that keys are not backlit but that’s ok if you are touch typing and not a disqualifier. Very satisfied with case. Don’t know about battery yet. I have only a few days, but came charged and I haven’t had to charge it yet, with daily use.

I use my IPad constantly, especially now that I’m WFH due to Covid-19. This case keeps it upright and securely protected. The keyboard is perfect and the ability to tilt the screen in any angle is a great benefit.This is my second one; the first one lasted for several years but the hinges broke. So if I had one suggestion for improvement, I’d say make the hinges even sturdier.

Got this ZAGG Keyboard case in on August 25, today is September 8. The Plastic Hinge starting to crack this morning already. I am surprised ZAGG continues to manufacture this model with so many complaints and returns due to using a plactic hinge cover lock. Simple get rid of the plastic one and light aluminum would protect the hinge screws and be done with it! Very frustrating for an otherwise well built (but a tad too heavy) case.Will return to Amazon for a replacement with another model.

This is a solid little keyboard for the 9.7 iPad. I used to have a company issued iPad Pro, and I turned it in when I switched jobs... However I had become accoustomed to taking notes using the Apple Pencil in One Note, (kind of living out of One Note actually). Also using the cellular connectivity to keep up with emails on the go. So on my own dime I went for th 9.7, because the additional features of the pro didn’t really make a difference to me. This keyboard is a very nice compliment to that device. My experience is with both the Smart Keyboard cover, and a Logitech keyboard case for the iPad Pro. This keyboard works as well as both of those two, its actually less cumbersome than the Logitech, and at least for me, more comfortable than the Smart Cover keyboard.My only complaint is this doesn’t transition easily to taking notes with the Apple Pencil unles I pull the iPad out of the case, and it doesn’t have a pencil holder built in. For me that isn’t a deal breaker by any means, as I have a case for when I’m mainly utilizing my iPad for notes in meetings etc. My use of the keyboard will be more travel related, and for that purpose I believe it will perform exceptionally well.

I really love the iPad keyboard case with one exception. This is the 5th one I have bought. The top of the case always breaks after a few months. I wish they would improve it better. This is the only keyboard case that fits my iPad.

I have been a consumer of the wireless keyboard for my iPads for many many years and have owned several zags prior to this one. I have to say this model has been the worst. The first one I had was replaced within the first 60 days due to malfunctioning battery. Return policy was fulfilled and was an easy reorder easy return. I have not yet owned the second one a year (it will be a year in Sept 21) and it is falling apart. The keyboard has almost entirely detach from the screen portion of the protective cover. I am well out of the return window with Amazon. However I have not yet called the manufacturer. I’ll be taking that next step but I’m just frustrated And certainly takes the ease of Amazon out of the equation

I don’t know how other people are using theirs, but I have mine for work and I am in trades. This case is awesome. I do try to take care of it as it’s not cheap per say, but the hinge is solid and the keys are sturdy. Battery life isn’t great at full light but you can dim them or turn off during the day. 9/10

Update ZAGG came through with a replacement, thanksContacted ZAGG for warranty replacement of ZAGG broken keyboard and received an offer of a 30% discount for future purchases. This lasted 7 months before it’s buckled along the plastic hinge that closes and then broke. This is not the first Zagg i have owned that has done this. A definite design flaw that Zagg should fix.
