The best smart lock out there?
One of the best smart locks in the market. Very easy to install and has many options for different style locks. Works locally on a Matter network using the hub, so using the lock is quick, reliable and privacy focused. On AA's the battery life is decent, changing them once a quarter, there is a battery upgrade available from switchbot that is an excellent option. It is a bigger lock from the inside, but from the outside you keep your normal locking cylinder. So it looks like you have a standard lock. Overall great lock, reliable, and at a great price.

Reliable Smart Lock That Makes Keyless Entry Effortless
5/5. 5/5. The SwitchBot Smart Lock Pro has been excellent. Installation was straightforward, the lock feels solid, and keyless entry works smoothly every time. App control is responsive, and unlocking the door feels quick and reliable without fumbling for keys. Things to improve: None so far.

Great lock when combined with the keypad
As my title implies, I think the keypad is necessary to get the most out of this lock. Yes it can function without it and if you put an NFC tag somewhere nearby, that's honestly a sufficient way to use it. But if you have a family then the keypad(especially the Keypad Touch) is the way to go. There are many unlock methods so there will be something for everybody. My wife prefers just to use her fingerprint, my parents are using these generic fobs I got them, and I'm using an NFC tag that I created inside Home Assistant since I integrated the Lock to HA using Matter(one of their Matter Hubs is required though). Although a Switchbot NFC tag also accomplishes this. Just wanted mention this for anyone who may be interested. But you don't have to buy Switchbot's own NFC cards to use for unlocking. Instead you can buy generic Mifare 13.56MHz cards or fobs. Easy to find on Amazon if you look. I got a cheap 10 pack of cards and fobs each to test and both worked perfectly for me. So I gave 2 of them to my parents for when they visit because it's easy to put on a keychain.

While Hardware seems to be competent; support and getting the right accessories is abysmal
First, let me say that unless you're considering doing a direct deadbolt replacement, I believe this product will do the trick. However, the failure of this product lies in marketing failure and false hope within its own manual. I have a Mortise lock, which it said should work, but I need to contact the support email address from their website, which is also stated in the manual. Let me say that their support is inadequate and just plain horrible because it is just an answering service; the support advisors relay the information to the engineering team. Further, they didn't respond in time, and it took over 4 days to get a response, and now I'm still stuck with no answer via email. Also, one of the support agents mentioned leaving "feedback" in the app to get support, which was another failure regarding support quality. Who installs an app just for support when you can't install the product? This is NOT it if you want a product with a good support team and staff who can resolve issues quickly. I am returning ALL of the hardware and forgetting this experience. Be forewarned, and do not buy if you have a Mortisee lock or anything else complex. The lock pro is NOT like the previous model smart lock, and if you want something that you can attach over your lock, you'll need to buy the older equipment. Also, this doesn't come with a fingerprint reader, and the reader is separate from the hub, which you'll need the hub if you want to make it work with Wi-Fi. Sorry, Switchbot, but not sorry; this was the worst experience ever. I will not buy it again.

Great smart lock if you get the accessories
This smart lock is a perfectly functional but average smart lock. If it's your first or only smart lock, it will do the job properly. However, it ends up looking rather average when you compare to the functionality offered by other smart locks at the same price range. For context, I already have a ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Wifi Smart Lock installed that I'll be comparing this lock to, and I got this smart lock for another door. Out of the box, the U-Bolt has a keypad and is wifi-enabled for remote access which are both features that the Smart Lock Pro requires separate accessories ($50 for the hub and $50 for the keypad) for yet the U-Bolt is the same price as the base Smart Lock Pro. If I were someone who cared to consolidate everything into one app, had other SwitchBot integrations to connect the Smart Lock Pro to, or already had an existing SwitchBot Hub, then I would see the appeal of sticking with the Smart Lock Pro and paying extra for all the accessories to unlock the full functionality. I would have also liked to see this smart lock come with wifi out of the box without needing a hub or included a keypad as part of the standard package. While I can understand the desire to lower the price by offering a barebones package, in practice, having to take out your phone in bluetooth range and use the app to unlock and lock the door is really annoying. There are definitely things that this lock does better than others: the simplicity of installation, lock compatibility, and motor power. I was very impressed with how fast I was able to install this lock despite having to take off half of the deadbolt. The box came with everything needed to install the lock including tape to hold the lock in place and even a screwdriver. I've installed other locks which took a long time because I had to take off both sides and put together the innards of the lock. Locks that just fit over the existing knob don't have the compatibility that this locks has. There was one annoyance with the installation: The tiny hex security screws for both sides of the lock are annoying to install when you don't have much clearance on the side of the lock especially since the lock is so bulky and sticks out so much. I would have wanted the lock to be wider or longer than stick out so much. Other smart locks that I've used also had trouble locking when the deadbolt is not perfectly aligned or a tight fit and this lock had no problems with that. Turning the lock manually is very smooth and tapping the button to automatically lock is just as fast. So far I haven't seen the lock jam. While the lock does provide a magnet for the door to detect when it is closed so it can auto-lock, there is no space on the side of my door to fit the magnet. Fortunately, this smart lock can still function without it installed; you just don't get any auto-lock functionality which I can live with as I don't want to rely on that. Another piece of functionality that I wasn't able to test but seems really cool is the ability to pair unlocking or locking the door to an NFC tag. It seems like tapping the NFC tag with your phone will trigger the app to unlock or lock the door so at least that can save you from having to open the app. Edit: I was so frustrated with unlocking the lock solely with my phone that I got the keypad and now the experience is so much better. The keypad is solidly built with clicky buttons and the right amount of lights to indicate status. It was dead simple to pair to the lock, mount it outside the door, add a new unlock code, and enroll a fingerprint. SwitchBot seemed to have thought of everything when it came to the entire keypad package including multiple ways of mounting and even a wet wipe to clean the surface where you're going to mount it. It also came with a NFC card that you can use to tap against the keypad to unlock although I'm not sure why you'd use that to unlock over a key code or a fingerprint. The keypad supports up to 100 codes, fingerprints, and NFC cards all locally which is truly impressive. It also has emergency codes and fingerprints which will trigger a push notification through the app, but unfortunately this functionality requires the hub. The nicest thing about the keypad is that because it is mounted separately compared to other smart locks, you can still reuse your existing key to open the lock. I'm still frustrated that this lock isn't WiFi enabled and requires a hub especially when there are other SwitchBot devices that don't require a hub, but having at least the keypad has made it possible for someone else to unlock the lock without me being around.

I was always on the fence about smart locks, but the SwitchBot Lock Pro won me over completely. Installation was a breeze - I did it myself in under 30 minutes with no special tools needed. Now, unlocking my door is a breeze - the app is fantastic and super responsive. Plus, the twist dial for manual locking is smooth and easy to use. It looks great on my door and feels very sturdy and well built. The automation options are endless. I love that I can set my lights to turn on when I unlock the door at night, and it integrates perfectly with my voice assistant so I can lock up with a simple command. Overall, the SwitchBot Lock Pro is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a user-friendly and feature-packed smart lock. Highly recommend!

Works very well and in combination with smart key pad touch provides you a high range of possibilities to lock and unlock. Furthermore the App is very stable and provides you useful information wherever you are.

This is their new smart lock, and overall, it’s pretty solid. They claim it's compatible with all locks, but for mine, it wasn’t 100% compatible. I had to use my own screws, so I wouldn’t say it works for every lock out there. It really depends on your specific lock and screws, but if you’re handy, you can probably make it work. Unlike the previous model that used 3M adhesive strips, this one uses screws, which makes it more robust and reliable. It’s not going to fall off like the 3M version sometimes did. The lock itself works fine, although I’ve noticed it occasionally jams, especially after the recent software update in September 2024. The batteries are holding up well, and despite the installation being a bit tricky, I managed to get it up and running. I use it daily now. Software Perspective: The software is decent, though it could definitely be improved. There are a few bugs here and there, but overall, it gets the job done. I do appreciate that they release updates from time to time, and I’m happy with that. However, I’d love to see more features added, like auto-unlocking when your phone is nearby, so it detects your presence and unlocks the door automatically. Additionally, to connect the lock to Wi-Fi and use it with Alexa, you need the SwitchBot Hub Mini, which I already have (an older version, but it works just fine). With that setup, I’m able to control the lock using Alexa, which adds a lot of convenience. Price and Value: From a price perspective, it’s definitely cheaper than its competitors, which was the main reason I bought it. They’ve also improved the quality compared to older versions, which is a nice touch. Overall, I’m very happy with it and would rate it a solid 5 out of 5.

Easy to install over my existing lock and quick to calibrate. Unlocking and locking works well. The API access was very useful for me, as it allowed me to use Tasker on my Android phone to control the lock and see its status. 4 out of 5 stars because the functionality to auto-unlock when you get near only rarely properly triggers for me. It's a beta functionality though, so perhaps it will be improved. Overall, would recommend.

I was very pleased how easy it was to add it to my home assistant via ble gateway especially compared to competitor at that time aqara u200. The operation is solid and reliable apart from it loses state/position tracking from time to time but the android app calibration process is simple and straightforward. I replaced the lock batteries a couple of times during a year and a half. I haven’t had to replace the fingerprint keypad batteries yet.
