This VR headset is not compatible with 2D video, nor modern 360° VR videos. It works well with the dual screen videos (easily found on youtube VR - look for preview images that show 2 split-screen copies of the image [stereoscope]) and apps designed for Cardboard (which have fees).Since my intro to VR was on the Quest system, which uses screen casting to play fully interactive/surround 360, and 2D vids are projected like a private movie theater, this setup is too limited for me. That said, it could be a good intro toy for specialized vids displayed on a phone. However, beware of kids using it unfocused (very easy to do - there is no depth option) as it could screw up vision.While the phone-based projector headset is a decent value, it doesn't meet my needs and I'll be returning it to get a higher-end VR headset that works with a PC and screen casting.
