This cord appears to be a fine natural leather core with what feels and behaves like a synthetic outer coating of white. The outer coating makes it a lot less flexible than a 100% leather cord would be. I have kept it because I needed it for a project, but I would not purchase again in this or other colours.

Fantastic leather cord, smells like leather too. Comes on a spool which is ideal for me. Will be purchasing again.

Personally, think I should have bought 4mm cord, but 2mm leather cord has come in very handy! Have now ordered the larger size.

This is NOT real leather, most likely some sort of vinyl.I normally don't waste my time writing reviews - if a product is good quality and value, I'll buy it again, if not, sod it - but I want other people to know that this product DOES NOT in fact do what it says on the tin. The description is really misleading. Oh well; it can be useful for other projects I guess but not for necklaces or anything that comes in contact with skin.Apologies to all the fans of "faux/cruelty free" leather out there, but at the end of the day faux leather is plastic, which is derived from oil, it doesn't last as long as leather and ends up in a landfill where it leaks toxic substances into our ground water. I'd rather have leather obtained from scraps, thank you very much.
