Ihave an earlier push button system. And its the wire/clippy thing thats faulty. Will this fit it?

Only if it is a Optima 50 flush valve made by Siamp.

Replacement cable took minutes to fit. After a couple of flushes the lever keeps run up the side of the horizontal contact face and jams...help?

Make sure the cable is in the best relaxed position to freely allow the bottom lever to return to its lower position after pressing the button push. I found 90 degrees to the central housing worked for me. The same applies if the button push is also sticking. It may help to clean around the central housing with a toothbrush to get rid of any limescale/dirt

Hi, in the description it says the cable only. Does it include the plastic and which holds the push button as well?

It was a while ago since I replaced this - I remember it was very fiddly to fit - you have to get the angle just right. But all the bits were there - and providing you don't throw anything away when you disassemble the cable you should have all the bits to fit the new one. Mine worked fine.

How easy is it to change the cable? I can’t even seem to take the old one of the main unit?

It is fairly easy. You do have to use a bit of force to carefully pull them off the fittings. Slightly twist them from side to side and make sure you pull them off/ put them on straight so not to damage. Also make sure cable is correct length and not bent too much as it will stop the leaver operating the valve from sitting properly.
