Love the options. Wish there was an extra extension for the motion sensor. I had to splice some wires to reach the bottom of the stairs. Other then that it works perfectly and was easy to set up

There are no instructions on how to set the sequence for the lights. I cannot get them to work properly, in addition they do not send wires for the ice sensor. Very dissatisfied.

I used motion sensor light switches and some creative wiring to get them to turn on and off from either direction. I had to cut drywall, install electrical boxes, 14-gauge wiring, the step lights, and the two motion sensor switches to complete the installation. They work in that they light the stairs, but this takes illuminating a staircase step to a completely different level. This is a much more elegant solution with less labor, a lot of control, and customization. This controller operates up to 36 light strips. The light strips are low-voltage, so there's no need to daisy-chain 120-volt electrical wiring to each location. Trust me, it's a pain. One 120-volt connection will drive up to 36 light strips from the easily concealed 8.58 x 3.07 x 1.10” controller box. The 12-volt wires are easy to work with, and they can be run in places where bulky standard household wiring just won't go. The lights mount easily under the lip of the stair tread, and concealing the small-diameter wire was fairly easy. There is adhesive backing on the light strips that could allow mounting them directly to the step. I mounted mine into an aluminum channel track secured with small screws. It adds some protection for the light and is very secure. The controller will let you vary the sequence, delay time, and brightness. These features are not possible with traditional step lights. They take up little space, are bright, easy to work with, and look fantastic. The included COB light strips pack more LEDs into a smaller space, resulting in higher intensity output than other types of LED technology, resulting in clean, uniform, bright light. Kit is complete with everything you need to get your stairs to illuminate in sequences. Before you get this kit be sure to survey your stairs. Stairs will need to have a lip under each step in order to shine light down. You are able to shine up from the step but after some time it will get a lot of dirt trapped in it and don’t recommend it. You will also have to run wires from each step to the controller box. The cleanest way to do this is by drilling a hole for each step. Access inside the steps is needed as well. The way I did it is by adding a trim piece with a channel and ran wires under it. This allows you to paint/stain the trim any color. There are 2 boxes which need a location near an outlet, controller and the power supply which connects to AC power. You can add up to 36 steps with this controller. Make sure to get the right kit which has the same amount or more steps. Project will take some time to install but the end result is stunning. The effects are amazing and guests love it. When you go pass the sensor it will illuminate the steps. Everything is automated and well designed, plug and play. If you are a diy-er a definite must get. I took pics of what you get in this kit. I'm impressed with this setup. Everything that you need comes nicely packaged and ready for installation. It may look overwhelming if you aren't familiar with working with PLC type things (this is simpler by far). The light strips are just a bit longer than my stairs are wide, and they are fairly standard stair width. However, even if your stairs are extra wide you could just center these and be fine. I laid everything out on the garage floor for testing, as I won't get to install these for some time (need to yank the carpet and install nice wood steps still). There are several options to configure for the lights - with the little guide sheet they are pretty straightforward and not all that different from each other. There is a setting section C[0-5] that is not mentioned in the guide - I still need to find out what that is for. The light strips are quite even along their length with the individual LEDs barely visible. These are quite bright! I wish there were a little more configuration for brightness settings, and options for some of the modes - like the stay-on mode I wish could be configured with a separate timeout for the dimmer lighting. Is the idea in that case someone has this on a lightswitch somewhere? I dunno. That's possible. it should be easy to install this under the stairs and run the wires behind each step neatly. I look forward to getting to complete this!
