Great starter kit that comes with everything you need to get going. My son couldn't wait to break it out and start using it Christmas morning. Heavy bowls that hold the "heat" in on the rising dough. Good size.

I’ve been doing the freshly milled wheat thing for some time, but until the other day had not got in to sourdough. I’ve yet to make bread so haven’t used most of what’s in the kit - yet. I really like the jar and its fitted breathable cover. I’ve seen starter in spaghetti sauce jars and can only imagine how difficult it must be to get the starter off of the narrow neck of the jar. The jar scraper is great! I won’t use the metal dough scraper on my countertop, but bet my grandsons will think of something to do with it. The seller is responsive in that I had a self created issue that they helped me resolve. Please don’t infer anything by my 4-star rating as opposed to a 5-star rating. It’s rare for me to give 5 stars. I’d purchase this kit again.

This product comes with everything you need to start making your sourdough bread from scratch, at a great price point. It also comes with a card detailing the basic science and ratios needed to start and maintain a sourdough starter. My only zonk is that they didn't put any beginner friendly recipes on the card. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

The little booklet is priceless! Great instructions for starter, sourdough feeding and bread other great recipes! The proving basket turned out to be perfect and the glass jar for watching your starter rise (black band to mark starting height and day and time is brilliant!) with a cloth elastic topper! Great kit. Highly recommend.

This sour dough starter kit is perfect for beginners! I've made several loaves and each one is better than the one before. Everything you need is in this kit! Just add flour and water :)

I’m a true beginner. I’m happy with everything this kit comes with, except the instructions are not very clear, and left me with some questions and not really understanding how to start. I need to know HOW MUCH flour and HOW MUCH water to start with, not just 1:1. Is it 1 tsp, 1 tbsp, or 1 cup? Or is it 1/2 a cup? It would be very helpful to give the exact measurements of the flour and water. Next, when do I use the screw on lid, as opposed to the cloth lid? We got online to help us figure it out, but I was really hoping to get all the information I needed from the kit. If you have some type of experience with sourdough, then this is a perfect kit for you!
