The Best Truck and SUV Jack EVER!!!
Seriously, this is my favorite jack. I keep it in my 3/4 ton diesel truck 100% of the time. Jack and jackstand rolled into one, what is there not to like? It makes for save tire changes along side the road. The wide base is less likely to sink into hot asphalt in the summer, although I do use a larger piece of wood to prevent this. It is so convenient that I use it to level my truck when I can't find level ground to check transmission fluid level. I use it all of the time and plan to purchase a second. It has been a solid and safe tool for me, and the highest lift weight and greatest lift weight jack I have found for the money. It's also a time and space saver, no more getting separate jacks and jack stands to work on my truck. After owning one I want two.

Powerful for its size
The perfect jack for a big rig , but you have to be sure you have a big rig!The jack is very tall and it won't fit under a car or smaller truck , it just fits under a 15 passenger chevy van with means it starts lifting the vehicle right away , I like the fact that it locks in place securely , you can see the handle move to the lower position, then you can release the pressure slowly to lock it in place , pump it up again til the handle is on the top position, hold the handle in place to lower the jack fully .Other reviews mention it getting stuck under load and I haven't experienced that yet, I can see it if the arm is extended and the floor is uneven it might twist out of line but I don't have to extended the arm at all in my truck , you do have to give it a gentle push down to fully seat the bar and get it off the frame but its not bad at all

Stable and strong
Works great, feels strong and stable. I keep it in my jeep for emergencies on either my jeep or my lifted camping trailer.

Flawed manufacture, looks nice, though
The particular one I bought does not work as designed (purchased Aug 2025). The design concept is brilliant. The execution and final manufacture of the product is frustrating and missed the mark for 2 reasons, which I will briefly discuss. Is there value in this? Yes. I was actually able to use this on a 2003 Honda CRV and 1997 Chevy Silverado 1-ton. The device very capably lifted and held both vehicles in the air so that tires could be removed and replaced. What the device did NOT do was fully retract once the tires were replaced. In both instances I had to frustratingly use an additional jack to lift the car a tiny bit so I could pull this CAT jack out from under the car. It is very important to note that I had to use force from my hand and body weight to get the Cat bottle jack to fully recess, once out from under the car.In other words, I spent well over $140 for a partially functioning jack.I hope the one I received was the exception to the rule, and was a lemon.Am I irritated? Absolutely.Should you buy this? I truly wouldn't recommend it because it essentially only works in two of the three ways that I need it, or anyone else does: 1. It capably lifts the car/truck. 2. It can function as a jack stand and hold weight in place. But none of this helps me if the device doesn't fully retract under the weight of a 1-ton 1997 Chevy Silverado. I need 2 jacks to remove a tire, that's inane.Causes of the failure to retract: 1. The device sheds black paint every time I retract and release the pressure. 2. It seems to me that even using a 'light oil', as the manual indicates, to lube the arm still doesn't enable the device to retract. It appears my particular device was built poorly such that metal grinds against the housing.Design comments: the build of the design seems quite rugged and convincing. It is clearly capable of lifting and holding a load. The steel used in the base plate and all other parts, those parts are clearly robust. It just doesn't retract. Essentially, if I am on the side of a road/highway IRL, the car/truck will remain lifted because the last 1.75inches won't go back into the housing. My particular model is sooo incredibly disappointing.I hope mine is unique and that everyone else has a functioning one, but I would not recommend this to anyone else until Caterpillar corrects this glaring design flaw. There is absolutely no use for the black paint on the shaft of the arm. Even if the removing the black paint on mine, through repeated usage, does occur there still remains the flaw of the arm being prevented from retracting back into the housing because these two parts are not fitting properly, they are essentially grinding against one another.I followed the instructions prior to use. This is not related to air. This is metal on metal working against the intended design.I'll still use mine as a jack stand, I'm not bothering to ship this back to Northern Tool. However, it still won't prevent me from being honest on my review.I wanted this one to work, obviously. It failed in the 3rd stage of the process.

Missing part in shipment
This Jack is very sturdy, easy to operate, however my shipment was missing the Pinch Weld Adapter, the rubber part on the jack. Had to contact the vender and jump through the several hoops to review and send the missing part. Which Im still waiting for.

Great lift and seller.
Awesome product. Shipping sucked tho. I was told it would arrive on a Monday. A week later they arrived. Then 1 failed under a load. Luckily I had another set of smaller ones on order. The automatic lock is bad if the hydraulics won’t lift the load. I couldn’t lift high enough to unlock it. Requested a new one and it was sent right away. I love this style of jack. I have two Cats bc my 3/4 ton truck is heavy and I don’t like how roller jacks handle on grass or dirt.

Best Bottle/jack stand ever.
I initially bought 2 and then I had to buy the other two from how great these are. Great system and is fail-proof with the locking mechanism, easy to operate and it also has a big base. You can raise a whole car within 5 minutes by periodically lifting each corner separately (you just have to be careful and know what you are doing). The downside is that you may have to lift a low SUV with something else before placing these jacks underneath due to the height, but these are the perfect size for any big and in my case lifted SUV, and also for tall vehicles with the extension mechanism. After, a year of periodical use the rubber holder broke in half (I knew this would happen since it's obvious that it will fail at some point due to the shape and how the side of vehicles sit as a blade on the rubber holder). I wish they sold these separately or that they had a metal version of these. That the only complaint that I have.Besides that with some regular (once a year) grease on the jack and mechanism as normal and expected, these are the best bottle jack/stands that exist. Certainly worth the price. I would certainly buy more if I ever had to, but Already have 4 and I don't need any more.

Heavier than I thought I like that tho ….
It’s nice , and clean yellow, I just have to make sure I tie it down it’s a good size and value for your money , height is good but 2 more inches higher would've been nice , for super duty lifted trucks .. it’s good for my Toyota 2 inch lift but after that idk how high it reaches yet
