Best instant ramen
Nissin RAOH feels like a more premium brand and it definitely tastes like it too. Probably the best tasting noodles I've had from an instant ramen. The broth is great as well and is easy to prepare.

Taste and measurements for a good ramen
The best instant miso ramen I’ve found. Only thing that’s a problem: quantity of water used. When I follow the directions and put in 2 cups of water, the noodles seem to absorb half a cup. This when adding the soup base, you’re really dissolving the full packet In a low amount of water and the flavor is INTENSE! Like a garlic, ginger, salt Astral finish to your last buds. When cooking the noodles I use 2.5 cups of water and I cover the pot to both boil the water and to simmer when I add the noodles; less evaporation so I only lose half a cup of water. I still measure it out; When I strain the noodles I do it over a measuring cup to ensure the proper amount (because I’m OCD).The noodles I cook for only 3 minutes because they continue to cook afterwards and they can get kind of really squishy if cooked for the full 4. The noodles can also have a more noticeable sulfur smell if using past the expiration date. I’m used to having boiled eggs put into ramen (against my will I might add) and the smell of the ramen after expiration date and after cooking can be similar to that hard boiled egg smell, IMO. Still, it might be too much for some.

Miso flavor 🍜
I can't find the miso flavor of Raoh Ramen anywhere, even though other flavors are available at local Walmarts and Krogers!Given the price increase, it still seems reasonable compared to spending $15 to $20 at a ramen restaurant. Adding your own char siu pork and a soft-boiled egg makes it nearly as good as restaurant-quality.In fact, I've heard that a local Japanese restaurant in my town uses Raoh bought in bulk from a Japanese grocery store where my friend works, which makes me think I could run my own ramen shop.

Great noodles, good broth
The noodles have a nice chewiness and shape to them, and I'd say they are the best thing about this ramen. The broth, however, I can't believe contains such a ridiculous amount of sodium, and especially for the portion you get. As an example, shin red gives a pretty big portion with a great flavorful broth, and it contains 75% of daily sodium. I can't say what it tastes like using a full packet, but with half a packet and less water to dilute the flavor, it's pretty good. The amount of noodles this ramen has is on the smaller side, and this is definitely something to serve as a base for you to add things such as meat, eggs, seafood, etc. I enjoyed it with smoked salmon and a hard boiled egg.

Best Instant Ramen I've Ever Had
Oh, why am I trying to go low-carb? I may have to opt for lower-carb, as I don't want to give these up. The miso variety is without a doubt the best instant ramen I've ever tried. The usual US grocery store ramen is fine, but all you really get is SALT. There's very little other flavor to it, and if there is, your palate is fried from the salt bomb. This is magical. That being said, it is considerably more expensive than the US grocery store version, but you know what? I'm happy to pay. I will absolutely be buying this again, and will also try some of the other varieties. Carbs be damned, I want a ramen fix!

Expensive, but by far the best ramen on the market
Nissin Raoh is not poor college student ramen. It is very good ramen direct from Japan and actually eaten by Japanese people. The noodles are higher quality, and vary for the different flavors of ramen. The liquid flavoring is better than the powders for cheap ramen. For best taste, cook with an egg, and add some sliced green onions on top and (if you want) some sliced pork (ham works as well, as does bacon) on top at the end.

Different taste than the Asian version.
First, some of the packs on the one I got have tiny holes on them so Amazon sent out a replacement and just asked me to throw the ones I initially have. Upon the arrival of the replacement, I inspected each and every pack to ensure they don't have any holes or tears that would compromise the quality, and luckily they are all good. Now for the taste quality of the US version of Nissin Raoh Miso, they taste really different compared to the Asian version. How to I put this, it's like bland but way too salty too... like instead of the umami flavor, they replaced it with saltiness instead. Although the ramen noodle is of good quality. This is still a good buy but if you are very particular with the flavor, go with the asian version.

David Chang said they were the best and he was right.
I like to listen to people who know things. When David Chang put these on Instagram I knew I had to give them a try. He was right. These are the King of Ramen. They make sequestration bearable. They make life worth living! Okay, that's hyperbole. You got me. But I like a good ramen. My favorite place in SJ is called Santouka and they don't do take out. So what I do is make some of this and put some leftover meat in it and pretend i'm at Santouka. I make little single service size freezer bags of pork or beef or whatever meats I have left over so when I make ramen I can meat it up a bit. This is a good ramen to do that with. Chop some green onions too, you can thank me later. Don't thank David Chang. He gets enough credit already. I'm the guy that knows the guy who knows things. Thats all you need to know.
