First impression
I bought this replace an old makita battery case that had been severally damaged.Upon unboxing all the parts it was simple to understand how they all went together. However I had to cut out the bottom plastic lines with a dremel to make the makita pack fit in the case all the way.

Works Great
It was easy to build this battery pack. The kit comes with all the parts you need. The soldering of the BMS board was easy and the 10 batteries fit in the case nice and snug. This is the second kit that I purchased and the first pack I built stands up the the brand name packs. ****Make sure you solder the temperature wire to the first section of battery cluster lower voltage end you won’t be able to change the pack if it’s not connected the right area.

May need to slightly modify
I bought this kit mainly for the battery shell since I cracked a few of the original ones (didn’t destroy the battery just the case). If using original battery pack you need to grind out the raised areas on bottom part of shell since they don’t line up with original battery pack. Also the original battery gauge is shaped different then the one in the kit and I haven’t found the sweet spot of grinding the plastic away to get everything to line up. So battery works and charges but I personally haven’t gotten the battery gauge to line up with the modifications I made to battery shell. Way better than spending over $100 per new battery!!!

Useful
As long as you keep voltage of DIY Battery pack range at 18.4v and you follow the rules of wiring batteries in “parallel & series connections”, all batteries charge at same rate.

Potentially dangerous to use
This risks overcharging your batteries. Lithium ion batteries *must* be kept balanced - each cell should be at the same voltage. If you don't keep them all at the same voltage, then some of them will be under charged, and some will be overcharged. Overcharged lithium ion batteries tend to catch fire. The BMS on this board doesn't make connections to all the cells - there are supposed to be four balance wires in addition to the positive and negative terminals. So, it definitely doesn't keep the cells balanced. Might be OK for a little bit but not safe long term.
