Der Tag, 1916, 2nd ed. is a book that contains the instructions and components for a strategic level, solitaire game simulating the World War I naval campaign in the North Sea. The gamer is cast in the role of commanding the British Grand Fleet, and must contend with the German High Seas Fleet, which is guided by the game system. The setting for the game is roughly the middle period of the Great War, 1915-1916 (roughly from Dogger Bank time period to Jutland time period), and running for four, essentially seasonal, turns. Victory is determined after four turns. Ship types included are battleships, battlecruisers, and armored cruisers for each fleet. This edition includes additional optional rules, optional Action Cards, and is presented in book format for the first time. Der Tag, 1916 emphasizes high playability combined with authentic historicity to produce a game that plays quickly but retains a strong historical narrative. This edition retains the game system as the version published in Panzerschreck #17. It includs additional optional rules, and is published in book format for the first time. Designer: Gary Graber.
