Johnny Rodriguez Desperado: A Piece of My Soul

I think Johnny's story was written with honesty and humility. I cannot argue with those who said it was not Johnny talking, because I do not know him. I do know that he was brave enough to open up his life and heart with much sensitivity to people in his life. It was refreshing to know his human side, as we all can relate to. The only negative to me was at the end with the pages of accolades. I am so grateful to him for allowing us into his life. Well worth the read.

I found this book particularly interesting because I went to high school with Johnny Rodriguez, and I often wondered how his life went. In reading the book, I see where the road he went down lead him. It was an exciting life, but at the same time had many pitfalls that weren't in his best interests. He bares his soul here and tells it all, the good and the not so good.

My parents were huge fans of JR’s music, and I grew up listening to his albums and watching him on HeeHaw. He is such a handsome and talented man! I love the honesty of his book. He tells it all, even when when he doesn’t come out looking so good.I do wish the book had been written in chronological order, but that’s just me.Thank you for sharing your story, JR. Amazing book, it's like having Johnny in front of you telling the stories, I admire what he has accomplished and has definitely inspired me. I love his music and always will. Johnny , we are so proud of you amigo. Hopefully you can make it to one of my dances real soon.
