Works well

Cuts wood really well and is easy to control in use. I use it for shaping flower petals once I have from wood turned the basic shape.

Recommended to me for cutting mdf. It's a workhorse for sure but I'd recommend ordering a couple. Depending on your use these things don't have a long life span.

I used it to accurately cut through 1/4 inch hardened steel tubing. This it did without any difficulty and the cut was near perfect. I then had to cut through a welded joint. Finally, I joined up the shaped pieces and trimmed off the excess. All this was done with this tool. The weakness is that it wore out. But to be fair nothing else would have done the job so well, and the steel was tough to cut. I will be buying a replacement and I recommend this tool for cutting hard material.

Die Trenn- und Formscheibe (542) mit einem Arbeitsdurchmesser von 25,4 mm von Dremel wird in einer Blisterverpackung geliefert und ist bereits auf den Aufspanndorn (402) mit einem Schaftdurchmesser von 3,2 mm montiert. Somit passt sie ideal in jedes Dremel-Modell mit entsprechender Spannzange. Im Normalfall ist diese Spannzange beim Kauf des Dremel bereits eingesetzt. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist sehr hoch und die Scheibe ist mit einer Karbidbeschichtung versehen, welche die Haltbarkeit erhöht. Des Weiteren ist sie für hohe Umdrehungszahlen bis zu 35.000 U/min ausgelegt. Somit ist die Dremel 542 sowohl für Weich- als auch Hartholz geeignet. Außerdem kann man die Scheibe auf den Dorn umdrehen, um sie so gleichmäßiger abzunutzen. Laut der Internetseite von Dremel selbst, ist die Trenn- und Formscheibe für folgende Holzarten zu verwenden: - Faserplatte - Spanholz - Laminat - Sperrholz - Hartholz/Laubholz - Weichholz/Nadelholz Aber auch Kunststoffe, Gummi und Fiberglas sind laut des Beiblatts möglich. Einen weiteren Pluspunkt gebe ich der Dremel 542 dafür, dass sich unter der montierten Scheibe ein Lager- bzw. Federring befindet. Dieser dient als kleine Knautschzone, sollte man einmal unsanft beim Schneiden aufsetzen. Ansonsten könnte sich die Scheibe verbiegen. Das kann passieren, muss es aber nicht. Das Schneiden von Holz klappt mühelos (Hartholz, Spanplatten, Laminat). Ebenso Kunststoff (Kabel- und Zuleitungskanäle) sind kein Problem. Das Schnittbild ist sehr sauber. Je nach Material kann man die Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeit anpassen. Bei weichen Materialien sollte man vorsichtig mit einer niedrigeren Geschwindigkeit anfangen und ggf. nach oben korrigieren. Das Tragen von Augen-, Ohren- und Händeschutz ist Pflicht. Gerade auch, weil es sich um eine Trennscheibe handelt. Mein Fazit: Original Dremel-Zubehör für einen überraschend kleinen Preis von circa 8 Euro. Hohe Qualität für hohe Geschwindigkeit und sauberes Arbeiten. Klarer Kauftipp.
