Cat is in love!
My cat loves this thing! Unfortunately it’s cardboard so it doesn’t last that long, but he won’t use anything else so I’m stuck as a repeat buyer. Holds up pretty well; though I need to replace every 3 months because he’s a mad man for it. Easy to assemble. Works well wedged up against a chair so you can promote healthy habits in a way that doesn’t ruin your furniture.

Great for vertical scratching cats!
Bought this for a cat who likes to scratch vertically and stretch out. I was worried about stability but this has held up well! The catnip that came with it was helpful in introducing the device to my cat. She started using it quickly and even sits inside of it sometimes.I have one medium/large size cat who has used this for a few months (see image). I do wish there was a way to purchase replacement panels but given the sturdy construction that doesn’t seem feasible. I will probably have to buy a new one soon. I am ok with this as the price is reasonable and it’s saved my velvet couch from being attacked. The only downside to this if I had to pick one is the pieces of the cardboard pile up and track on the floor. Nothing a hand vacuum can’t handle though.Highly recommend to anyone with a cat that likes to scratch vertically or scratch sitting down and destroys couches!

Popular with some of my cats
As someone who has had a number of cats, they all like different things. Some like to scratch horizontally, some vertically, some like smoother things, some like sisal and rope.Recently I inherited destructo cat that would scratch wood furniture legs/corners and any smooth fabric furniture. After taping up all my furniture I noticed he started stretching a cardboard box so I bought him this. Needless to say he's a fan and I can un-tape my furniture. Even his sister likes to scratch the horizontal part and even sleep in in. Why not 5 stars? The little tabs don't stick well when constructing it. I used packing tape. The bottom cardboard can be flipped for additional use but the large piece cannot. I did tear into it to flip the cardboard to give it more life and hot glued it back in but the reverse side of the large piece doesn't look useable as a scratcher. For the price I want to get as much use out of it before recycling it.

It's a hit!
Update 1/30/21:Just bought a new scratcher last week because the first one was worn out. Pleasantly surprised to see new design! Just a couple of tweaks but I can sure tell the difference. See note below about sticky tape. The back is also now one piece instead of two, and perhaps the best upgrade. Time will tell on the tape but already seems much better as the connectors are set up differently too I think. Printed instructions easier to follow too. What was a great scratcher is now even better. My 6 cats are enjoying this new scratcher. I've got all kinds of scratchers in the house, carpet, cardboard, vertical, horizontal, hi, low, but one guy just won't use any of them. He has finally found one he likes! Hooray! It's also become a time share spot for snoozing. Every time I look up, someone else is napping in it. The 'newness' has worn off and they still like it.Be sure to look at the YouTube video for instructions. It was VERY helpful. Not much to it but still a little confusing without that video. My only criticism is the sticky strips that are intended to hold the sides in place came unstuck within the first 36 hours. I put a couple of staples in the sides and problem solved. I would definitely buy this again despite that minor issue.

Not long lasting
My cat loves these upright scratchers. A stronger cardboard for the scratcher board would be appropriate for the price. It wears out very quickly and us too expensive to replace often. Another option would be to include a replacement backboard, or a reversible piece as a way to extend the life of this scratcher.

Strong scratching pads, weak base
I bought this because my cat has been pawing at our walls and doors. The instructions this comes with are cute and lists out the pieces you receive, but doesn't tell you where all of the pieces go. The photos make the base look like it's wooden. It's just a print on flimsy cardboard. While folding the base into place, the cardboard tore in some places. My cat took to this immediately and loved the scratching pads. Unfortunately in her excitement, going back and forth between scratching the vertical pad and the bottom pad, she kicked out the final fold of the base... the fold that if it's out of place, the entire base loosens up and falls apart. Because of how flimsy the cardboard is, she has already dented the base.Even though my cat is happy, I'm not sure if the price reflects the quality of the product. The base should be made with stronger material. Without the base, this would be just another scratching pad.

Great scratcher, both our cats love it!
We use it as a stand alone, aligned with the couch. Our cats really like it, and took to the scratcher right away. Especially cause it's also a little bit like a box, so they like to stand or sit inside this thing, and just look around. It's super cute, and quality seems to be pretty good.

Solved Our Problem, Worth the Effort, Quite Sturdy
We have a year-old purebred Maine Coon cat that insists on vertical scratching cardboard. She has two sisal posts in our bedroom and uses our bed multiple times daily. I found this, ordered it when I was at my wit's end & my husband assembled it in less than five minutes. I've had arthritis in my hands for over two decades and could not have assembled it. Knowing that it would solve the bed shredding problem would motivate me to find someone else who could assemble it, even if I had to pay them to do so. The only drawback is the heighth. My cat, who is still growing, is 12+ lbs and has to shrink down to sharpen her claws on this. Even with that, this thing is still sturdy, with no additional tape, just as it was made. I wish the makers would consider making a larger size for larger breed cats as they are very popular.

My cats love it!
My cats adore this scratcher! It has held up well over the few months that I’ve had it so far.

Has almost stopped furniture scratching
Our kittens never got the hang of a traditional Scratcher, but are fans of cardboard ones we have dotted about for them. However they were still in the habit of scratching at the sofa so I wanted to find a vertical cardboard Scratcher to see if it helped. At first they weren't keen and never used it, but after placing at the site of the most common sofa scratching point there was success! They now very rarely scratch anywhere on the sofa and frequently use this Scratcher. It is a bit lightweight and does move as other reviewers have said but for us this hasn't been an issue

Keeps the little pieces in the box!
My cat loves it! I also like how all the little pieces of card board stay in the bottom box when my cat is scratching. Less of a mess!

Sturdy and durable cat scratcher.
Purchased one of these during lockdown and it’s lightweight, easy to move around and doesn’t shed cardboard like other scratchers. The best upright cardboard scratcher I’ve bought.I have purchased two more and my only complaint with these are they were heavily glued. This made them hard to construct but I managed to pick off the glue so no harm done. They may seem pricey but I think compared to others they are well worth it.

Pretty decent overall.
My cats love this!! It’s a bit convoluted to assemble, but nothing too crazy and comes with 3M clear stick tabs to keep it together but they did not stay stuck for very long... other than that (having to re stick it with tape) it’s great! Maybe a little pricey... but considering it’s keeping my cats and their nails away from my speakers now, it’s wonderful! Hah
