I’m not sure what the manufacturer specifies, but what I do, I wash in the sink separately with a little Dawn Dishwashing liquid in warm water, rinse and pat dry. Works perfect for me 😌

It has an adjustable Velcro strap. My head is not small either. It fits. I find the fabric is hot and I would prefer cotton.
