I had ordered a couple of other USB storage flash drive and had to return them because they did not work. I took a chance on this one and it works great and is helping me clean up my computer's storage!!

I bought 2 of these drives for distribution of over 700GB of files and information. Both drives failed exactly the same. Upon initial copy, the copy failed half way through with write errors. The write errors were not correctable using chkdsk. A quick format was performed and a second copy was attempted with the same results. Next, a low level format was performed (which took over 48 hours). The copy process was performed and completed without write errors (which also took over 48 hours). Upon rechecking the flash drive, the drive was once again corrupt with missing files and information. I verified my equipment was not at fault by purchasing a much more expensive name-brand flash drive and the copy process completed the first time in less than 24 hours.

I found no problems with this flash drive other than it would not convert to TV. I specifically bought it for that purpose after looking for one that would convert to TV for 2 days. It does not. I tried every way that was explained to me and then gave up. I ended up returning it because that was the only need for it.

A simple copy of files from a hard disk to this device is agonizing slow. The initial transfer rate was about 14Mb/s but after a couple hours, the rate dropped to an average of about 5 Mb/s. So, to copy files to the device that utilize the available space would likely take several days. If all you are looking for is a device to archive files that you will not need ready access to this may work for you.Update: While trying to do a simple file copy, the drive experienced corruption. Trying to repair now. Do not buy!Update: What a piece of crap. Unable to do simple file copies to the drive without errors. Unable to delete files without errors. Returning as unusable.

This thumb drive seems to be high quality and it's an incredible amount of storage for the price, but the transfer speeds are really really slow. So if you're looking to transfer a lot of files at once, be prepared to wait.

Purchased this for Time Machine on my Mac. It copied my data very quickly faster than the previous 1TB USB. Highly recommend!
