I had been using a pair of SoundCore Space A40 ANC earbuds, recommended by the NY Times Wirecutter column.That was, until two weeks after the 18-month warranty expired recently, when the left bud started squealing and then conked entirely. Worse, SoundCore offers no repair or replacement program, leaving customers high and dry.So I did some research, saw a less expensive pair of buds from Tozo getting good reviews and then saw these, on sale for around $100.DIRECT HIT!!!These are excellent earbuds, as good as any I've encountered, including high-end products from Devialet and Sony.After I loaded the Tozo earbud app, I took the app's hearing test and then was off to the races -- SUPERB sound on all kinds of music from rock to jazz to blues to classical! No special EQ needed beyond that, though the app gives you plenty of options to choose from.I think I saw a few reviewers here complaining of not enough volume or flat sound. Were they listening to the same earbuds? These have tons of volume. And if their sound is flat to you, I guarantee you need to try a larger pair of the silicone ear tips included for a proper seal -- try one size up.Otherwise, these fit in my ears beautifully, not requiring the constant readjustments the SoundCores needed. Of course, as with any earbuds' silicone ear tips, you need to let them warm up in your ears for a few minutes before you get an optimum seal.The touch controls work very well also. The commands are thoughtfully chosen and, with different functions on the right and left buds, cover every command: play/pause, track forward/back, volume up/down, ANC/pass-through, summon assistant, answer/hang up/ignore phone calls.The microphones seem up to snuff: I was able to dictate to my computer with superior word accuracy.Battery life appears to be acceptable as well, requiring a case charge every few days. The buds support wireless charging.Last but not least, the buds connect to two devices at the same time, sparing you the nuisance of having to disconnect one device to use the other.These also have an 18-month warranty like the SoundCores. We'll have to see if they continue to work after the warranty has expired and if Tozo has better customer service than SoundCore.But at the moment, I couldn't be happier with these and recommend them highly...PROS:* Excellent sound on all kinds of music.* App includes hearing test to optimize frequency response.* Many EQ settings provided in app.* More than adequate volume.* Fast and rock-solid connectivity.* Full set of touch commands.* Great fit in ears.* Good battery life.* Good ANC and pass-through mode.CONS:* White noise selections included in app repeat at too-short intervals.

Let’s get this out of the way. I’m a live sound man, have been for 35 years, my livelihood depends on my ears and skill. So I’m picky. Short and sweet, I’ve never been a fan of earbuds. I needed something to wear to sleep to cover the noise my landlady makes pretty much non stop. Tried a couple of cheap pairs just to see if they’d work for me. Side sleeper, and only on my right side, back and shoulder disease. Got a pair of Bose QuietComfort, perfectly happy. Except for two things. One, they power down if you’re hold either button down for 5 seconds. Really annoying when I’m almost asleep, move my hand. No way to stop that. Second, the seal rings fall off constantly. Deal breaker.These got decent reviews, although don’t actually pay much attention to the first ten or so reviews, and very few 5 stars. Company website is very well laid out, informative. That’s important. Nothing more annoying than trying to find out a bit of info that’s not on here. C’mon, guys.Got them today.Sound wise, these demolish my Bose. Absolutely crushes them, even with no eq. More comfortable, lighter. They do stick out of my ears more; not enough to worry about. Touch controls work great. The right bud actually stays in, common complaint with everything I looked at.The two drawbacks. The left bud tends to rotate backwards at the bottom enough to break the seal. Not a big deal, just a little irritating. The big one, though. The ANC button press. Once to swap from anc to transparent. Every single time I adjust the left one, it switches. I really wish there was a way to remap the button press layout. Something to keep in mind. They stay in place fine, don’t fall out randomly, but I figure most people will be adjusting them a bit while walking or jogging.Solid buy, you can’t get much better, even at twice the price.

Listen… if you’re looking for top notch earbuds with amazing quality, then look no further. The TOZO Golden X1 is amazing. I use these more than my AirPods Pro 2, and can say they are better than the AirPods in both sound loudness and quality (overall and ANC). Not to mention the perfectly ear-fitment.These earbuds are easy to set up and are light weight. No matter if you’re working out, doing yard work, or taking a flight… these will get the job done with flying colors.Plus you have the TOZO app which brings extremely helpful additions; such as a personal equalizer, an amazing community, and the ability to adjust ANC levels (custom mode included). You also receive top notch customer support!If you pass up these earbuds, trust me when I say you will regret it. I’ve even bought some for my family. The value you get for the price is absolutely incredible. Especially in terms of sound stage. They even fast charge with USB-C.All that said, I highly recommend grabbing a pair. They’re my daily drivers after all.
