Wait, that’s not the key I pressed...
After installing realized a good portion of the keys route to the wrong symbols. All the letters and numbers work correctly, but 3/4 of the symbols don’t. It’s too much of a pain to re replace it so I’ll just live with it for now.

Odd
The keyboard I received appeared correct, but had to be maped as Australian English not US English, otherwise the ; ' - and = keys entered the wrong symbols.Another oddity, the keyboard viewer displays two nonexistent keys on either side of the spacebar, each with different Chinese symbols.Google translate says the left is labeled English and the right one Wonder.

on off key does not work (A1398)
I have to keep the case almost opened. Anytime the machine freezes I need to open it and unplug batteries

Lengthy install process ends with faulty product
After a lengthy effort removing the logic board, the original riveted keyboard, and attaching the new keyboard with screws, the new keyboard does not work. About 80% of the keys function, 20% simply do not respond when depressed. Multiple attempts at re-attaching cables, connectors, etc. did not solve problem. Due to the effort required to replace the keyboard in these devices, it is extremely disappointing to have the replacement part fail. Had I known this would happen, I would have just purchased a new OEM top case.

Works well just like OEM part!
My MBP 2012 A1398 has no holes for those black fifty bolts. It has only two holes near track pad. So I had to use a strong adhesive and a little piece of sponge pad on the direction keys. Then, It works just like the OEM part. Good luck guys!
