It’s pretty light really, I think it would work for your dog. Are you wanting to use it for training purposes? Because I don’t think you want it for every day use and poodles are so smart you could probably train it to heal with a regular collar and and leash real quick. I have a stubborn puller with ADHD and with this loop leash high on her neck she pays attention. Good luck.

This leash is sturdy and it has two handles you can use that fits great on your hands. My dog weighs 13 lbs and even for a small dog he can pull hard but if you use the leash correctly it will work. I researched various videos on how to correctly use a slip lead and there is one from Cesear Millan that explains it in detail. I strongly suggest to use it first inside the home to get both you and your dog familiar with it before taking him outside.
