Nutshell Library: Alligators all around / Chicken Soup With Rice / One was Johnny / Pierre

This is a sweet little collection of books that I bought for our son many years ago. Our 3 year old granddaughter fell in love with the old books when she visited and I needed to get a set for her very own. They were in excellent condition and arrived on time. Very pleased.

Loved the tiny boxed set which I bought for my grandson. Hope he enjoys listening instead of trying to eat the stories!

A tiny little box of 4 little books. Shrink wrapped so I didn't read. So cute! This is going into an Easter basket.

My 2 year old grandson loves these little books! The stories and drawings are silly and fun, and he loves taking them out of their little case and now passes them out to his parents and I so we can all read.

I bought this for my granddaughter and they are exactly like the set I had in the small box when I was a little girl, truly a classic 😇

I bought this for a 5 year old, and bought a second one for my 40 year-old daughter who always mentions this from her childhood. She still has her original set, although it is battle worn, as we read these 4 books to her almost daily. Then she would read them to us - these were instrumental in her learning to read. Such fun little books, and at this price (~$15) you can't go wrong. But for me, it was priceless to see my daughter's face on Christmas morning and especially when she said, "I can't believe you found these; I've been looking for years."

My son had this beautiful boxed set. It is a timeless classic. I taught him how to handle them carefully at 3 yrs old, and they survived his children and are now well loved by his grandchild. I just purchased this as a gift for my great nephew. It is what is called a predictable book. Children love the rhythm of it and will soon be reading. Wonderful silliness, stories and illustrations.

One of our family's all time favourite book sets, very small and cute and will delight any child and more importantly the grown ups reading it. Sendak at his classic best. There are four miniature books: One was Johnny, Chicken Soup with Rice, Pierre, and Alligators All Around. Buy several copies and have in your emergency gift store - perfect present...

Lovely little set…

I bought this for our youngest grandchild as my American husband had this when he was a young child. They are very popular in the U.S. seeing that Maurice Sendak was an American. I don't think the English are familiar with these little books at all which is a great shame, but we can highly recommend them!

Classics from childhood still available in original nostalgic format.Pierre still remain one of my favourite characters and the Sendak illustrations are timeless.Great gift for 5-7 year oldsEvery home should have a set.

Nice quick little story's with lovely picture. I cannot choose my favourite. But each is good in its own right. We often travel with it because it is small. A lovely present & books that you remember well into adulthood
