Superb
Disc one is a masterpiece apart from the very last mix which is just awful Oakie. Stand out tracks include Music for the Lonely, Set In Stone and Disco Droids. Set in Stone has one of the best breaks of all times. Disc two is also good but a bit more main stream

Wish I had not bothered !
Got the last CD in stock at Amazon for this album by Paul Oakenfold paying £20, after listening to both CD'S last night I am afraid this is another Trance CD ?? which will gather dust in my CD collection. The first CD is a drum and bass mix which is rather tedious and forgettable . The second CD is the main course after reading some reviews but it is just a an hour of rather bland tracks , with nothing really grabbing you and shaking you to your toes. I wish I had chosen another CD to spend my money on.

Pure Class Oaky!
First of all I'm astonished I'm only the 2nd reviewer of this album-I mean this is a GU Paul Oakenfold release album after all.CD1 starts with a surprising drum & bass mix which certainly wasn't expecting but it works very well and is just so slick and fluent which will please you a lot-after about the 10th track the transition to trance is seamless and so effortless which will leave you wondering how on earth have you been listening to a drum and bass mix but you'll do this with a smile--from here on in is the start of one of the nest trance productions Ive ever heard and that's including GU007 by Oakenfold himself and even GU013 by Sasha--it really is a top drawer effort with not one bad track or dip and will throw you straight back to pre 2000 trance where for me trance defined itself and when trance really was trance and not so diluted like todays--get this and you wont be disappointed its straight out of the connoisseurs trance box and while it may be all the way back from 1997 you wont find anything quite as good today!

Pure Brilliance!
This is my favourite of all my Oakenfold cd's (i have 12)...closely nudging out GU:007 New York, and 2 years...It is unfortunate that this is probably one of his least sucessful mixes. Starting off with some 'uncharacteristic' Drum & Bass, this is a spot of genious which has been lacking in recent years. Seamlessly mixing into pure progressive trance, this cd has to be bought.Neither cd is better that the other, they complement and contrast each other superbly to form a cd that should be treasured for years. I wish he would do another Global Underground set, they have been two of the best trance cd's ever recorded, here's also to hoping that Sasha will do another one also.

one of the low-lights of the series
By the fourth issue in the series, the music was beginning to drift away from true underground. here oakenfold uses a full half of CD 1 to experiment with breakbeats and it ruins the set. you can't dance to it, you can't chill to it, you can do nothing but picture girl guides tap-dancing on oyster shells to it, because that's what it sounds like - and it really dulls you to the rest of the music here. once the mix slides reluctantly back to more traditional underground its a very, very indifferent selection indeed, really makes you wonder why they bothered with this one.

Perfect Nighttime Freeway Music
If there were only 5 songs I could have on this Earth it would be the first 5 songs on Disc 1. I'm almost like transported to another dimension or realm with those tracks. Such an incredible, flawless transition from track one to five by Oakenfold that they seem as one long, sick track.

progressive trance..
To start off this album is disappointing, or at least not what i was expecting. I had heard this was his best mix and best of the global underground series so it seemed like a good purchase. it wasn't bad, it wasn't good and it was boring. I'm more of a fan of DJ Tiesto and Darude (Ville Veridian). Basecially what im trying to say is if you are looking for decent rave music look elsewhere.

I Wish I Was At the Concert!!!
I discovered Paul Oakenfold just recently on Pandora.com. This is great electronic music for everyone. Even if you think you don't like this type of music. And this album is considered one of his best CD's. I can't wait to hear more from him.
