BOSCH GOP18V-34N 18V Brushless StarlockPlus® Oscillating Multi-Tool (Bare Tool)

Amazing tool which is so useful. I've used it extensively for a couple of months now. A few thoughts and tips below that: - low vibration to the hand so easy to use for a long time - try to keep to plunge cutting and not go sideways - even though it's often quite easy to go sideways (with the right tool head) through plasterboard, sideways cuts aren't good - use the appropriate tool for a given situation. Obvious, but it's very tempting to keep going with an inappropriate head. - I got a lot of use out of a 4 Ah battery. Normally I don't charge them for days. If I'm going long enough to burn through a battery in one go I need a rest by the end, and I'm usually finished doing what I need to. The tool probably needs a rest after using a full 4 Ah battery mostly continuously too! Weight is also fine with a 4 Ah battery. - Changing tool heads is easy and fun. It has that feeling of reloading a gun in an FPS game. So this leads to tips: 1) make sure to budget for appropriate tool heads - as a general tool head the one you get with this tool is great (but 2) wide and curved heads are great for plasterboard 3) the scraper head makes scraping fun! 4) big teeth for wood works much better than small teeth 5) metal ones are great but do wear out quickly (even a 20 quid Bosch one I used) 6) you can tell when blades get blunt because they get hot!

Excellent piece of kit for a reasonable price. Great quality and feel. Starlock system is somewhat uncommon but works well. Lasted very well on a fresh battery so seems efficient. I would recommend.

So much better than the earlier version . The battery doesn’t vibrate itself out and the bits stay in so pleased . It’s now on par with the dewalt version that I also own that I brought to replace the early Bosch one that was absolutely rubbish but most of my tools are 18v Bosch. So had to give this new one a go and it’s been great .

Multitool itself is a bulkier than I thought it would be, but seems a great smooth tool to use. Delivery was 4 days ahead of schedule so very happy overall

As a pretty avid DIY handyman, I don't know how I made it this long without one of these tools. But with a big basement renovation project after a flood, I had a lot of demo and drywall work to do, and finally decided to pick one up. I have a bunch of other Bosch 18V tools, so naturally I gravitated to Bosch's offering. I was impressed by how useful this tool is - it quickly rips through even the old-growth studs in my old house like butter, and makes short work of drywall. More than enough power for cutting easily through everything I've set it against The grip is comfortable and it is easy to maneuver in tight spots. Battery life is pretty good, I get a couple of hours of intermittent use out of a 2Ah battery. A bigger battery would of course last longer, but makes the tool heavier, so I'm ok with swapping small batteries more frequently. For the money I spent, I'm very satisfied with this tool. Bosch generally makes good power tools, and this one is no exception.
