Accurate scale, easy to use, awesome display!
It’s stainless steel. I wish it could be a different color. So McDonald’s. I prefer bright, cheery, happy stuff. But my options were black and stainless, so okay, fine, stainless it is.It’s a really good scale. I tested it for accuracy with weights. I got the one that holds extra weight because I want to put heavy bowls on it sometimes and fill them with flour or meat. I love that it can handle that.It is simple to use and easily toggles between metric and regular weights. It holds the weight on the screen nicely so you get time to write it down if you need to do that. It’s so easy to use that I tossed the explanation. I don’t have to re-read it.But the BEST part is the little pull-out display thingie. I LOVE THAT THING. No contortions required to check the weight. No button to lock. No nothing. I can just SEE the flippin thing. Alleluia.Oxo is generally reliable but they really knocked it out of the park here. (Would it kill them to offer one that is a less depressing color?)

Excellent Product!
Oxo Good Grips products never let me down! And here's another great product! It's so much faster than my other brand kitchen scale. Why did I wait so long to replace that one? I didn't think I'd ever use the pull-out display screen, but there have been times when it's been really handy to just quickly pull it out to clear a large plate or pan. The whole scale is easy to clean after a messy job in the kitchen. It's easy to store in my cabinet. It looks sharp and functions well. It's quick and easy to move through the grams and ounces options for different needs. Overall, this is a great tool in the kitchen and I'd hate to be without it. Oxo Rocks!

two thumbs up!
So far so good! I had another OXO digital scale that did not work out well for me at all, which is odd because I've always had very good performance from their products. I should have spent the extra $ and got this scale in the first place. This is a much better scale. It's very accurate, easy to read display, easy to clean, and the pull out display is a nice feature when using big bowl/plates. I've been weighing foods for years and have used a lot of different scales and know the value and importance of having a kitchen scale you can rely on, especially in baking. I think this one's a keeper!

I should have bought this earlier!!!
I bake Sourdough bread. I bought a less expensive scale 7 years ago. I finally bucked up and bought the one I wanted in the beginning. This scale is excellent. The amount reading is instant. No delay! That’s super important when pouring in salt and flour. I love the readout panel being on a leash. When I make a double or triple batch and change to a much bigger bowl, I can move that panel and still read my panel. It’s a little thing that is really huge bonus!!!!!

Easy to use! Easy to clean! English and Metric!
Love how easy this is to use. Mostly all stainless steel exterior so wipes clean easily. Display and controls pull out from the weighing platform for larger bowls. Easy to zero or tare, and easy to switch from English to Metric measurements. It is better to weigh flour than to scoop-measure it.I'm also trying to sell some household items and knick-knacks, this makes it easy to weigh those packages to correctly charge shipping.

It's GREAT - but please read this (error in instruction manual)
I'm an accomplished cook and I occasionally bake. For over 35 yrs, I always have a reliable weigh scale in my kitchen as I believe this is a necessary appliance for getting great results and for managing ingredients and portions. This is the 4th scale I've owned as the previous ones all broke, for some reason or another. My most recent one was dropped on the floor by me, so the failures aren't always due to the manufacturer. There are a couple of features that are must-haves when I buy a food scale:- must have metric and imperial measurements and can toggle easily back and forth- must be able to read the screen even when there's a large bowl/container on top- must have reliable zero-ing capability- cannot time out quickly (this is a huge issue for me)I searched high and low for a replacement scale that would satisfy all of the above and more and decided on the somewhat pricey OXO Good Grips 11-lb scale. Here are my thought after using it for 2 weeks:a) The surface area is large and flat which is nice for sturdiness and balance. It's actually quite a bit larger than my last scale which I like.b) The pull-out feature of the display is pretty nifty so if there is a big bowl on top of the scale, seeing the screen won't be a problem. However, I will caution 2 observations here: First , the cord attachment for the screen isn't that long, at least it's a lot shorter than I subconsciously expect it to be. So the first few times I pulled it out, I accidentally yanked on it because I expected it to be longer. Be careful: if you do this like I did but over and over again, I imagine this will damage the connection. Also, slipping the screen back into place seems a bit awkward.. There's a tiny, I mean TINY little handle on the front of the screen that you're supposed to clasp and push the screen back in. Yeah, right. I don't have big hands nor fingers and this tiny handle is impossible to grab. And the screen doesn't automatically slide into place. So be prepared to have to manipulate this a bit. Not gonna lie, I think this makes it kinda annoying to put the screen back in place.c) There's very effective rubber grips on the bottom of the scale. Not sure how they did it, but mine actually suction cup to my quartz countertop!d) When you turn it on, for some reason it "counts down from 3." Like....why? To warn you that you're about to weigh something? Or maybe to get ready for a spectacular blue LED screen? This feature doesn't affect the outcome of the weighing process, but it does add time. If I'm ready and eager to start measuring flour so I can bake cookies, it seems unnecessary to have to stand there for an additional 3+ seconds for the scale to count down. And for what?e) I wasn't sure if I needed the "pounds - oz" or "kg - gram" display. I figured that if my ingredients measured 18 oz, then I can calculate that in my head as 1lb, 2 oz. But I see now that it's kinda nice to have the ability to just look at the screen and have the scale tell me that. I don't know if this feature is necessary for everyone, but I wouldn't buy or not buy a scale because of it from now on.f) I really appreciate the low battery warning. For obvious reasons, this would be a deal breaker if my weigh scale didn't have this. Too much risk involved without it.g) Now here is where I need to super critical. There's an error in the instruction manual which bothers me and could cause a HUGE SETBACK in your cooking or baking if you don't read what I'm about to say. This scale comes with a STANDBY MODE, meaning after about 5 min, the screen will dim, probably for power saving. And after 15 min, the device will completely shut off. The instructions say that in order to get your screen out of standby mode, you are to "press any button" to continue. However, if you have a weight sitting on the scale when the screen goes into STANDBY mode, you CANNOT press just any button or you will lose your weight! There are only 2 buttons on this scale: The Power/Zero button and the lb/kg button. If you press the Power/Zero button while there is a weight on the scale and it is in standby mode, then you will SHUT OFF THE DEVICE. I did this and I lost my weights! If you have a weight on the scale and the device goes into STANDBY MODE, the only other button you can press without erasing your weights is the lb/kg button. If there is NO WEIGHT on your scale when it goes into standby mode, then sure, press the power button or the lb/kg button since there are no weights to erase. My advice? If you can help it, just get into the habit of pressing the lb/kg button only when your scale goes into standby mode, regardless if there's a weight on top or not. This way, you will guarantee that you never erase your weights and potentially put yourself into a huge predicament. This is my biggest complaint about this weigh scale and that is that the instruction manual is actually incorrect.All-in-all, I would give this scale 5 stars because it's the largest and has the most features I've ever had in a weigh scale. I do like the feature where I can pull out the screen; it's pretty nifty. But like I said, I have to be careful pulling it out and replacing it so it's not perfect. This weirdism may or may not bother you. It's a bit pricey compared to other scales but I guess if it's lasts a long time, it will be worth it. If you can find this exact scale for $30 or less, I say grab it. I paid $53 for mine, which is more than twice what I paid for my last scale which lasted bout 7 yrs before I broke it. This is why I only gave it 4 stars since it's a much higher price point than most.

Awesome Scale
After reading many Reddit reviews in addition to these reviews, I can definitely say they are true. This scale is awesome. As a bodybuilder and licensed nutritional coach, my scale is my #1 tool, and having had an Escali for the past 4 years, I feel like this was a real upgrade. I had the Escali because the accuracy and response time was known to be top notch, but this beats or at worst matches it, plus the size of the scale and the addition of the pullout and lighted display makes this gold. Highly recommended.

Convenient and easy to see
I love the pull out display so you can see the weight even if the item you’re weighing covers the scale. Very handy and practical to use for many different things - from ingredients to whole packages.
