DURATECH 3-Piece Extra Long Drive Ratchet Handle, 90-Tooth Ratchet Wrench

I’m a technician for Caterpillar and I’ve really pushed these tiny little things in the past 3 months. I have 10s of thousands of dollars tied up in tools but I love testing little no-name brands like DURATECH and I’ll be honest, if they break tmrw, they’ve already paid for themselves. They’ll wear out quick, I’m sure, but if you aren’t really throwing them into hardcore stuff they might last you a few years.

My favorite 1/2 drive ratchet. For the price and qaulity I really think Duratech has stepped up thier game. The build qaulity and overall engineering of this tool give it the look, feel and functionality of a very high end ratchet. The 90 tooth mechanism feels clean and works great in tight places. The longer handle gives you plenty of leverage for stubborn bolts. The knurling provides good grip and the chrome finish is decent. The thing I love most about this ratchet is the gear selector, most other's have issues switching between clockwise and counterclockwise. The selector is really beefy and functions perfect, it has enough resistance you won't accidentally switch directions while installing a fastener or backing off a nut. Highly reccomend would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!

These seem to be made really well. I haven't been out here doing the things that have broke every ratchet I've owned, yet... so I can't comment on extreme durability. But the clicks of the ratchet feel and sound very nice and precise. Great for getting more turn in those very tight spots. They're extra long, so you'll be able to get the same torque on a bolt as before except with much less effort. So be careful not to over tighten everything lol. Things like drain plugs. I'll update my review in a few months after I've put some more use on them. If ya don't see an update, assume all is well and I've forgotten to even come back and update.

Update: After reaching out to customer support, I was surprised to find them willing to make the problem right and replace the broken 3/8" ratchet that failed, as described in my original review below. They sent me a replacement in the mail after I described my problem to them in a customer service query, despite the 15 day return window policy that they have. This was an unexpected development, but a welcome and customer-friendly exchange, so I am improving my review from 1 star to 4 to reflect the customer service making up for the seemingly low quality product. Overall turned a highly negative experience into a positive one. Original Review for Context: These ratchets are extremely poor quality. While they feel solid in the hand when you pick them up, they pretty much break on their own. The 3/8" wrench broke on its own just being in my tool bag. I reached for the ratchet out of my bag only to find the switch and some of the "guts" of the ratchet were simply gone. Fallen out. I found the switch, but the rest of the innards needed to make it work are lost, so the ratchet can't be repaired. This is the ONLY ratchet I have ever owned that just fell apart on its own. If the ratchets can't even hold up to rattling around in a simple tool bag, do we really expect them to hold up to tough bolts for years to come? Many people likely won't have a problem until outside the return window for Amazon, so a lot of people are going to end up with defective tools and no recourse. And the manufacturer product warranty itself? Actually worse than Amazon's, because they only offer help for 15 days after receipt of the product, so no help there. Terrible, shoddy product, and a total waste of money.

Been using this for about a week now and so far no issues. It’s a solid tool and gets the job done. The extra long shaft helps with breaking bolts with minimal effort.

Amazing quality. Exactly what I was looking for.

I think I already reviewed this item. Well made and does the trick.

Very good
