Good album

First time I invested in a collection of Queen albums, after just been listening to compilations for the last lot of years. Bought this first as I'm more of a fan of Queen's latter day works. Everything about the collection is great. Normal jewel cases tho' rather than the super jewel cases that the individually released remastered albums which isn't a problem. Comes with a nice poster from The Works era. Ordering from a US seller on Marketplace is a good idea if you're lucky. The price of the product and delivery makes this worthwhile, but you might get hit with customs tax by Royal Mail if you're unlucky like I was. Just keep your fingers crossed if you order a delivery from the United States.

Grew up listening to these all on vinyl. During my adult years I had to slowly sell them off... But now I have the ability to re-own them all on CD! It was fantastic to relive the songs again in one package - Queen were peerless in my opinion and a majority of the tracks throughout the albums are awesome. I cannot comment on the quality of the extras or any of that stuff people seem to get upset about, as I have no frame of reference for any of that. These collections are what they are, all the albums, in order, with some nice little extras. Love it. Now, I'm off to rock...

Waited 5 weeks for delivery... On delivery 4 of the 15 double super jewel cases had broken tabs that hold the CD's in place. Emailed Amazon who will only replace the entire box set, not just the broken cases. Which means you have all the inconvenience of posting them back then a possible wait of another 5 weeks to receive another set. I could suggest that the replacement set would also be at the mercy of having broken cases as per the original! Amazon sell replacement cases at £5.99 for 5, so wouldn't it be easier just to send the cases! I solved the problem by buying the cases for £2.90 + post for 4 off Ebay, so buyer beware of the super jewel cases.. And if you do have broken cases you need double CD flip top replacement ones! The box set itself is a superb way to obtain all of Queens studio releases in their 2011 remastered double CD form, and as another review noted it is cheaper than buying them individually. The cardboard box is nothing to write home about, mine has become scuffed just by normal use in a couple of days, but I do not think it can be purchased on its own, as a previous reviewer suggested. It was available last year, if you bought the 5 CD release, but you would need to buy the other 10 releases to fill the box! To my ears the 2011 remastering is a bit clearer than the 1993 remastered versions and the 'bonus' second discs do contain a mixture of B sides, live stuff (most already on Queen's live releases) and some interesting 2011 remixes and instrumental versions of songs. I would have liked all of Queen's BBC sessions (5) and BBC live concerts (2) added as the bonus tracks, or even a couple of bonus discs containing their BBC output, as it is all available in bootleg form, but do not know if there were licensing issues or Brian, John & Roger were unhappy with the quality of the BBC stuff. As previous reviewers have noted, It is a great boxset, but could have been better. Whilst Queen's 'rivals' like Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull have released their back catalogue to try to give fans unique boxsets or deluxe CD remastered releases this boxset is just the normal deluxe double CD's in a flimsy cardboard box, no accompanying booklet, added sleeve-notes etc; Also, make sure you shop around for it. At least I was lucky to buy it for £125.07! it has been sold, even on Amazon, for over £200, £160 and now seems to be settling at around £150,[[ASIN:B0060NNYQS Queen 40 (Complete Deluxe Album Box Set)so even with my broken super jewel cases was still great value for all 15 CD's!

Tive a sorte de encontrar esse box raríssimo por um preço imperdível, na oferta da Amazon. Com isso, conseguir completar a minha coleção do Queen. Os álbuns são só DISCAÇOS! Verdadeiras jóias da Rainha. Disc Made in México.

Excelente recopilatorio de los albumes del 84-95 en edicion de lujo (ed. de 2 discos de cada uno de los 5 albumes) por el 40 aniversario de la fundacion de Queen. Cofre de coleccionista descatalogado en España. Solo lo encontre en Amazon.es.

Loved this collection, no problems with anything - really recommend this set but I would have loved if they used the space on Disc 2 of each album with a few extra goodies as many things I have already, but I am very happy to add this to my collection. Only criticism is that the supplier/packers seem to have an adversion to "Bubble Wrap" for packing things as the box was just thrown in a shipping box without protection and it was being shipped from US to Australia, so the corners of the collection box a little damaged, that is my only complaint. Queen Rock as Always :-))
