Q: Is it possible to purchase a replacement power cord? The wire broke in the section with the temp control where it plugs into the pad.

First let me say that I really liked this heating pad and it did help my fibromyalgia and back pain. I bought it in May 2019 and the electric connection started to go out in September 2020. For me as well I believe that the issue is not far past the connector on the inside of the pad. I did contact Venture Heat directly and, while they were very nice and offered me. Discount on a replacement it was off their website’s prices...which have historically been higher than here on Amazon. Although I do like 5is product I m in quandary s to whether I should try another or continue to recommend it to friends (who have bought their own after trying mine). Money is not flowing well and I hate to think that I might be buying these every 1.5 years!

Q: Lists temp settings of 88/97/110 degrees F...is this correct? Will 88 actually feel warm?

Yes! The benefit of Venture Heat's infrared heating is that the heat is retained beneath the skin and in the muscle itself. The actual pad itself will not feel scalding hot to the touch like a normal electric heating pad. The effect is soothing, comforting warmth at low temperatures.
